1700x has similar single thread to kaby lake, 1800x should beat it. multi obv ryzen destroys it.

Hell even the 1700 is tempting, but I'm gonna stay strong for the 6c/12t and the second revision motherboards, fuck dealing with monthly bios updates for the next 6 months.

Nah it's intels dirty tricks division imo, combined with how generally dumb the tech press is.

Who are the special snowflakes spending £2000 on an 1800x build and playing on 1080p?

As soon as you go to 1440p, 4k, 21:9, triple screens etc, the FPS edge becomes 0 to 1 - ie statistical noise.

Basically if you want an 8 core monster and you're not a 1080p gamer then ryzen is where it's at.
If for some reason you wanna spend £2k on a rig and play single monitor 1080p and only getting 235 fps instead of 240fps offends you then sure, you need dat intel shit.
