WoW you get banned if Blizzard finds out you are trading, there is a slight difference And they have banned a lot of people for trading ingame stuff for cash or cash for ingame stuff.

well atleast thats what they say. but its impossible to know if they actually have or not.

Well i personally know 4 people who got banned for 2 botting, 1 buying gold, 1 buying account. so there is some evidence.. And the only reason i see the "hunter bots" disapearing with irregular intervals is that they got banned, cant see the gold farmer rerolling a lvl60-70 char to start from scratch to farm gold.

It's pretty much a random selection based on computer specs. I am involved in two AoC fansites, been active on the forum since early 2006 aswell and not seen any beta invites. May be because I have a sub par PC for AoC but I've seen people that are totally dedicated to AoC and not getting an invite.

But you know, March is creeping closer all the time, not too long now.

They banned the account. Ip ban, cc ban is hard since its just as easy to change your ip or card than it is to buy a new account. And one of my mates started new account, had some issues with the account. Blizz fixed it but in the last reply he got a msg that we banned our old account so this one is under investigation aswell, but dont worry if you play by our rules now.

That smacks of diligence, as you might expect. I like the bannings, but account-only ban seems a bit lax, especially when it is so rare an occurance that the account will have paid for itself by the time it is banned (I'm guessing this is very likely).

Well not much more they can do. Banning name, cc, ip wont work since you can always change it, give them false info, and use gamecards to play. Would cost to much for them to investigate each customer to see if he is who he say he is.

No idea. If we are enough FHers that are going to play AOC, I'll petition for a forum section here. And possibly we can agree on a server we all play on when we know what server names and types that will be available at release.

Maybe if the fellas that are 100% going to play AOC at release can reply here and state what kind of server type they want to play on?

At launch there will be 3 server types: Normal (PvE), RP-PVP and PVP.
Normal is like daoc is, pve everywhere except a PVP zone, the border kingdoms and PVP instances (skirmish scenarios)
RP-PVP is a full PVP world except in trade hubs and rules for naming, good behaviour etc. ideally you should be "in character"
PVP server is the above except roleplaying constraints

I had ideas for a guild almost a year ago, but it kinda slowed down since the game got delayed three times since then. Maybe we can have something similar going on a chosen server? With a FH-core and invite friends and family

How it worked for FFXI was we all said we were going to play, and first one to get the game got on a server at random and we all bandwagoned onto that server.

( Which was fun, we did manage to have an awesome european endgame guild for about 2 years ) although it did make a few people hate each other but thats just standard I think.

Long time ago that I've visited this forum, but back again. I'm most definitely gonna try Age of Conan. Warhammer is still quite some time away.
