yep it took the key and is now logged in and patching. so my advice is if you get the already logged in error keep refreshing till you get the key page then just keep confirming till you get through it.

so now i just have to undergo the torture or key authent and I'm good to go

Yay, I'm patching!

A note for trying to get your key validated:

Keep refreshing the page till the login screen is in the centre of the page, if it comes up with an error after trying to connect, refresh again.

If you get a wheel starting to turn on the left side, wait for it, hopefully you should go to the key entering screen.

If you had to refresh due to an error, keep going until you either see the login in the centre again, or you see your name on the login on the left with a wheel turning. If you see the latter, wait again and hopefull you'll see the serial key page, or you'll see a wonderful error.

I suggest putting your cd-key in a small text file so you can copy and paste it really quickly.

If you get this far and click validate, hopefully it'll go to the next stage, but most likely not, just keep clicking validate if the error doesn't throw you back to the main page.

After that you have to click the 'Yes' button to finish, at this stage it doesnt boot you back to the main screen, so just keep pressing it after the errors keep coming up (from my experience anyway)

@Trottimus: yep thats the exact way I did it a few minuets ago apart from for me it went past chacking the key no problem and only had a problem when asked to confirm but even that only took about 3 or 4 attempts.

well still no email nearly 22 hours after registering so guess i'll have to try again later when they can make this work properly. I woke up in hope it would be fixed by now.

Just woke up and had a nice surprice, my confirmation email had arrived. After 18 hours of waiting

Morning folk. I see some of you have managed to finally log in. I think I must have just scraped through at 07:00 GMT this morning. I managed to get my key registered despite it telling me that the authentication servers are down. I got to the pathcer to find I now have a very different issue. The patcher has informed me that I must reinstall the entire game as I have a large number of files missing. Oh well at least I know once Ive redown loaded it I shall be able to get in. As for my confirmation email I got it in under an hour (just after 8:00 am) so my registration seems to have gone ok this morning after yesterday's fiasco. Hopefully I can download the client by tonight (more likely tomorrow) and see you good folk in the game then.

One question really, who do we complain to?

If you are dissatisfied with service of any other company, they have a customer service number which can handle those complaints. What do GOA have? Whining on these boards is all well and good, but where do we go to make these complaints official so that we can get a reply?

I know a lot of people will calm down once they get into the game, but personally, I want more of an explanation and some sort of reassurance of ongoing support.

We were told to create a new account to register our Open Beta keys with. Now, I wonder, would the impact on the Account Server be so severe if it was not bombarded with all these new Account requests? Just a thought.

when you reach the page to enter your key, if an error box pops up don't click on it, just move it to the side and keep clicking on the validation button. eventually it'll work, it did for me.

trust me the server is up I only registerd my key not long ago.

as said above go to the key entry page and keep refreshing till you get the box in the midle saying you need to login to access the page.

when you get that box try to log in if you get a error just keep refreshing the page till it comes up again and repeate.

if you get the already logged in error keep refreshing till the box comes up on the left saying you are logged in witht eh spining thing over the account pane.

wait if you get a error keep refreshing till that page come back untill you get a page asking you to enter the key.

after you enter the key never hit refresh even if you get errors just ok them and hit the confirm button again and after sevral attempts it should come up the key has been activated. in my case it gave an error at the same time but it still worked.

the server technically isnt UP its only ever up for a few seconds every couple of minutes. it cant handle any traffic whatso ever i think someone didnt correctly configure the server or its behind a regular household router lol.

its behaving exactly like my router does if i bombard it with 5000 connections
