I'm almost tempted to pay Blizzard another £8.99 so I can go sheep and fireball someone to vent frustration...

I got to the screen where it actually asked for my key at lunchtime but the wheel of fortune spun and spun and didn't connect with the server.

This is pish!

Tried again after dinner, finally got to the validate information page and now it seems the server is down altogether. The words organise and piss up in a brewery come to mind!

Well some of them are in Dublin, so maybe they decided to have a trip to the Guiness brewery in the afternoon for a congratulory well done on the successful launch of WAR :drink: :p

Because WoW is boring?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!

Seriously though, this is one day of trouble, (possibly two if it happens on launch day), and then it should be fine from then on in, as it is a better game than anything else out there.

It is symptomatic.
It is an excellent example that GOA haven't changed one bit since DAoC.

Use 2 keyboards and a Nostromo N52 massively F5 macro'd!

But unfortunately they don't work either . . .

just macro all your keys to F5 and them smash you face on the keyboard for the next hour

Is this old news too?

aww Spinal Tap... one of the best live acts I've ever seen (July 1992, Royal Albert Hall, Break Like the Wind show, before anyone says ST have never played live )
Anyone got the video for the dwarves dancing round Stonehenge? Would be a nice way to spend the time waiting

it's more like, our servers were brought down for debugging because we do a hell of a crappy job, don't worry you'll be able to play WAR some day... maybe...

Launch is pretty vital for new MMO's. Just ask SOE. EQ2 never recovered from a flaky launch, and that was competing just with WoW and EQ and a couple of others.
WAR has to deal with an established WoW, and all the other minor players, LOTRO, EQ2, Vanguard, AoC etc.
With a shitty launch, all that happens is players give up and never return.

If they repeat this BS in 10 days time, WAR will suffer permanently.
