So?

She admitted she knew she needed a licence. She didn't check she had one. Do you think Nottingham council would let the people they fined off for their responsibilities?

Ignorance of the law is no excuse for us. Neither is forgetfulness (or incompetence). What else is she forgetting?

On the plus side, her tenant can claim the last 12 months rent back. So hopefully that'll cost her 40 grand.

I'd rather they banned lead in gunshot, mercury in amalgam, the majority of single use plastics, unnecessary building on green belt, sewage discharges into rivers, all of the really nasty chemicals we use that the EU has banned since we Brexited but we've not bothered with...

...you know. Something really useful, rather than playing to the public by kicking rich people (who are going to ignore it anyway) and doing absolutely nothing useful.

Whilst I welcome it, I'd much rather a government who wasn't just a massive pile of cunts.

Dickheads hunting stuff on horseback should be stripped naked, given a 2-minute head start, and then hunted by dogs.

They already are banning lead for air shooting (2026ish) I have about 200k pellets stocked up, ready to sell on once it comes in.

Not intentional, but I have bought and sold a few rifles over the years, and some do better in different rifles.

People actually hunt out pellets by factory die, because they suit the rifle better. I had some super rare old ones, sold them for (relatively) loads.

That makes me sad. You're profiteering by poisoning :(

I will get on the phone to the armies of the world and tell them they have to stop using their lead bullets. At least wars will be safer when we charge with bayonets and pitchforks.

We use depleted uranium ammo. Causing cancer wherever we go to war.

But I have noticed something Deebs - you seem to point at something, somewhere else that is worse, as if it means we shouldn't bother fixing the easy things. Lead in shotgun pellets could have been banned ages ago.

We're banning fox hunting - but lead in shotguns is a much bigger problem.

I am pointing at something which is much worse. Take your lead in hunting rounds vs lead in military rounds. Around the world which one causes more lead pollution? I will give you a clue it is not the hunting rounds.

Banning those is the same as banning farting in public and will cost untold amounts of wasted funding/protesting which can go on better things. Don't get me wrong I am all for it but only if it can be implemented very quickly and efficiently. Something we cannot do for the simplest of things and goes on to cost the taxpayer huge amounts of money which could be used in more urgent areas.

I remember the issues in the past when we tried to ban fox hunting and I was on the side of those who want to ban this barbaric sport.

No. It's a huge problem. Between 8 and 13,000 tonnes of lead shot are sprayed over our countryside every year. Up to 100,000 water birds die every year (up to 3% of the population) because of lead poisoning - and that's just the ones that die, not the multiples more that are made ill because of it.

Lead not only poisons the waterways and animals that are near - it poisons the animals that ingest the shot animals. Raptors and scavenger species fall ill, and their progeny are affected.

This includes humans - butchers can't remove the micro fragments of lead from deer - so it ends up in the human food chain too. And lead poisoning goes from parent to child, with serious consequences.

And it's easy to fix - we've copper and steel shot, rounds etc. It's been done elsewhere. All we have to do is pass the law that makes it's continued production, sale and use a criminal offence. And all the scummy wanker businesses that still produce it take a hit - but all the businesses that produce the safer alternatives get a boost.

It's a simple, easy, no-brainer solution to a longstanding serious problem.

But our supposedly environmentally friendly Labour government is hell bent on handing over our digital ID's to romanian cybercriminals than protecting our health and the health of our environment.
