Aye, I have to admitt although their musical skill wasn't incredible and the vocals were fairly poor it somehow went well together and besides they provided a huge music revolution, some may say it was the pixies but if it was them how come you get all the kids walking round in nirvana hoodies.
Anyway it was a damned shame he blue his head off.
P.S a lil off topic but the best music to come from seattle was sound garden
Do we really have to care about the anniversary of his death every smegging year. If Kurt was still alive I doubt he'd be idolised in quite the same way. By now I'm sure people would have realised just how one dimensional his music and lyrics were. Even at the time, I couldn't get past track 8 of Nevermind without it descending into a montonous repetitive dirge. I was so glad Angel Dust came out the year after and gave me a properly decent rock album to listen to, one which continues to influence artists to this day.
Got to say I've never seen the attraction in Nirvana, but I can acknowledge the strength of their influence. It's being taken a bit bloody far, though. Apparently Spin magazine had a year-by-year account of what Kurt would have been doing for the last 10 years if he'd lived. Completely pointless. But, well, hopefully now the 10 year anniversary's people will shut up about it for a while.
dont like Nirvana, I kinda like kurts anger, and all that jazz. Refreshing. HE gave a shit and was passionate. He had good taste in music too. Generally boring band. See: The Foo Fighters.
