heh i pitty the IT supporters. i am the one who goes an installs the PCs and fucks em up a bit so you got some work, if it wasnt for people like me you wouldnt have a job!

no only joking. i do install PCs etc but i dont fuck em up, half the time they want me to fix some problem anyway, even though its not my job or on the job sheet etc etc

I test/develop rockets, radars, etc. for different armies.

Pros:
I can say I'm a rocket scientist
Not particularly stressful
Good pay for the work
Free coffee
Lots of 'team building excercises' (We all go out for the day and absail, or something)
Lots of holidays

Cons:
Takes ages to get into the office (Security etc)
When the Germans come in :p

Hot dinners cooked for me by the wife coz she has no job the sponging tart.

Cons..

I work in China so odd hours on DAoC
Sometimes difficult to concentrate since I work from home
Wife is around me 24/7 til she gets a fucking job the sponging tart.

I do IT support too.

Biggest con must be stupid people :D

Latest example :
Lady calls me because her screen is broken.
I ask her if the power is still connected, if the monitor is turned on, etc.
She assures me she checked everything.
So I go over to the other side of the building (a 5 min walk) just to find out the monitor is simply switched off.
5 min walk back inventing all kind of new swear words.

Thank all the computer gods there are also nice networking problems to solve ;)

Cons
Shat pay
Doctors are knobs who think the world revolves round em
Some seriously ugly patients and nurses
No DAoC access (unless i use dial up, shhhh)
Most of the jobs i do are PEBCAK*

what the hell, it get paid to oggly nurses and surf the net, aint all bad......oh and from time to time i fix sommit.

Used to work a summerjob at a printing house.

Cons:

Shitty hours.
Poor pay.
Only one 15 min lunchbreak.
No overtimepay.
Overtime work.
Inkstains on fingers that stay for a week.
Papercuts.
Boss with a whip and a personality disorder.
6 days a week, 10 hours a day.

Pros:

GF who worked the same job so the lunchbreak was well used. :D

I used to be a doorman at a Theme Restarant, Friday and Saturday Nights

Friday Nights WOMEN ONLY!!! - All in one price, drinks, food and caberet, and beleive me when i first started there I was really shocked to see what a room with 150+ drunken, randy women is like!



Needless to say i had a lot of phone numbers and even the odd underwear given to me and the other guys who worked there (10 men total :) )


Cons my GF came one friday noght and decided it wasnt really for me....not that i agreed but what can you do ;)

I'm a manager in a cheque cashing / pawnbrokers:

Pro's: I can play DAOC or any other game at work while the staff work. I can surf the net, watch dvd's. Go out for lunch with friends... well pretty much anything as I work with my mom, one of my best friends IRL and another staff member who don;t care :D


Cons: Tuesdays and thursdays the boss or MD come to shop and I can't play all day but only part of the day :(

Work on Saturdays :(

Pros
I totally own the firewalls, so I surf where I want.
Pay is ok, could be better
Work near Liverpool Street so it's an easy journey to work.
Relaxed working atmosphere
After 2 years financial experience I get to earn scary amounts of money
I get to buy lots of shiny computer equipment

Cons
I work with stockbrokers
Occasional customer support sucks the devils balls
Pay could be better
Long hours
I work with stockbrokers

I got a friend doing exact the same job like you Max, has to test drive new Porsches (700+ pk/hp) for some racing team in Zolder :)

And for the job I do: I study, so not really any pro's, only con's :p

Work in a Bank in Moorgate in London doing IT

Pros:
Hmmmmm. All day surfing.
Decide my own projects.
Office manages itself.
The only quiet trading floor in London
35 mins travel in on a good day - tube

Cons:
DaoC port closed on group f/wall
hour and a half travel in on a bad day with some guys armpit in your nose
No foxy ladies...

Just round the corner from me as our offices are on Finsbury Cicrus.

We never actually seem to have that many traders in, although they haven't taken up my idea of a wireless link and terminals installed in the local hostillary they frequent ;-)
