your job

Was just sat here at work wondering, as is my wont, what other people view as the pros and cons of their jobs. Here are some of mine.

Cons for my job.

no DAoC for a month at a time, a ping of 6 - 700ms and a pl of 15 - 20 % = unplayable.
Working in a place that can be injurious to health (disease, civil strife, scurvy due to lack of fresh fruit and veg :D )
Working midnight to midday for 28 days, takes me 3 or 4 days to straighten out when I ge home.
Not having a beer for a month is a fairly bad point too.

Pros

Relatively cheap fags.
Airmiles, can be very useful.
I can surf the net almost at will, bearing in mind I am behind a company firewall.
I enjoy flying in Aeroplanes and helicopters :).
I get to see parts of the world that I probably would not have if I didn't work there.

pro/con a bit of both

I am away from home for 30 days at a time, I am at home for 26 and in the days at home have no work. About 6 months holiday a year  .
I miss things because I am work, this year is quite bad birthdays anniversaries, christmas and new year. Next year I should be home for all the ones I miss this year so its a swings and roundabouts kind of deal.

Anyway if you feel like it add your own, if not, thanks for reading and have a good one

Pro's

I work on an Oil Rig off the coast of Africa
The pay is reasonable + 15% extra because of the requirement for armed guards when travelling to and from the airport and staying inside a walled, razor wired, gated compound for one night a month.
Yes it is legal.
Yes but they are usually stale.

Hope this answers our questions :)

I used to work in advertising, so heres the perks of the job :

Pros :

- 90% female staff
- intelligent and good looking colleagues, i learnt to value intelligent conversations <call me weird if you like>
- travelling to europe at least 4 times a month
- decent money and paid healthcare
- virtually unrestricted access to internet

Cons :

- 90% female staff
- Sometimes my work days lasted for 12 hours especially so during summer due to alot of "light alcoholic beverages" campaigns that need sorting.
- No paid overtime , although theres a good bonus package during "busy" season.
- Beurocracy was/is immense

Right now im employed as a consultant in a certain Russian JSC. Pays well, dont have to leave Moscow as often = more personal/DaoC time and i get to tell people what to do hehe :)
