Your plotline is a bit off, but close! Besides, they'll change it for X3.

Phoenix is an "interstellar entity". It inhabits Jean, and places "her" (ie her soul or whatever) in suspended animation. That's what all the flaming shit was in the film. Basically Phoenix is rock hard, she flies around on fire and blows all sorts of shit up. She also has long ginner hair. Anyway, she's 'good' at first, but goes a bit mental, and starts causing all sorts of damage. I reckon that will be the main plotline of X3 - Jean as Phoenix, goes mental, Charles has to "talk her down", etc, and it will all end up alright.

What 'actually' happens is. Phoenix commits suicide on the moon (yeah, exactly). Cyclops (fagot) thinks Jean is dead, and gets upset. Then a clone of Jean called Madyline (created by Mr Sinister, big bad guy who I hope is in X3 because he's cool as fuck) turns up. Cyclops gets it on with the clone and they have a kid (Cable). Then when the real Jean returns (god knows how), Cyclops leaves Madyline, and she goes mental. develops godlike powers and tries to take over the planet. Jean kills her though. The end.

Betsy (Psylocke) flirts with Cyclops sometimes, but her real love interest is Angel/Archangel (who, ironically, is almost as much of a lamoid as Cyclops), they never actually make anything of it.
