Irontard im just wondering, when you turn up at the orc spawn in aldland and someone is already there xping and you say "either let me xp or i kill the trigger ogre" like you have done a few, do you consider that helping the realm?

Why are we sarting this ridiculous discussion over and over and over again? People selling artifacts is A GOOD THING! I WANT artifacts to be on CM´s, so I can farm money and buy them if I need them instead of sitting on a spot, watching some centaurs entertaining themselves. I don´t give a flying f*ck about what people are doing with all the plats they got, they can build up houses of the sizie of St. Peters Cathedral and hire the pope to act as their personal Castle Sauvage Teleporter Merchant, I don´t care. It´s a good thing... people are charging money for a couple of 1´s and 0´s, other people decide whether giving them other 1´s and 0´s for their 1´s and 0´s is worth it. If it is, they´ll buy, if it isn´t they don´t. Where´s the problem?
It´s not that farming money is exactly hard these days. We´re living in times of Necros and we got DF like 24/7. So there you go... kill some Hulks, get some seals, buy your stuff and voila! Everybody is happy.

Feel free to show me the mail stating this, the beach spawn hasn't been changed at all in any patches and it hasn't been stated anywhere that xping there is bug abuse, guess this is just more clueless ranting

Oh btw you xp at orcs also which is why you get upset when others are already camping it.

thorwyn, the only real problem i tried to discuss here is the insaine prices that they run by....and the selling ppl could have easely contacted you "hi thor, we're doing GoV, need it, only takes 15 minutes ".

Yes, of course they are... at least the general price level, which is kinda struggling against the - simultaneous - increasing supply. Because there´s more and more money in the cycle and because the pace of farming large ammounts of money is pretty fast compared to the pre-SI era and because every man and his dog has a money farming bot these days. And there is no real money sink (i.e. a "hole" where money will be removed from the cycle) except maybe levelling your crafter and that requires patience.

As I said, money means nothing. I don´t care if people own 200p or not. If they can give me what I need and if I decide that the price they´re charging is ok, I`m happy. Who am I to stop them if they fancy having funny digits next to their "p:" in their character screen? If people are charging too much, they won´t sell the item. Prices are always balancing themselves. Just take a look at the developement of the top items (SoM, Battler etc.etc.) and compare them to the prices a couple months ago. You´ll notice a drop of prices.

Yeah, that´s what guilds are there for. Take his Scout to DV for an evening and let him act as a block-bot for some caster and he´ll have a few plats. Alternatively, let him roll an alt and level him up in a guild PL group. Hell... people need to work for their money. We all do. I´m owning a Necro + BB and have access to all kinds of chars to farm money with. I just don´t have the time to do so. But I don´t blame the system and I don´t want to accept gifts. It´s my fooking job to get out there, spend a night in DF and earn the money I want to spend. And that´s what your Scout-only friend should do: stand up and do something instead of blaming others.

That´s not true. Look up SoM or Battler for example (again). You´ll find quite a lot of them. The market is not satuated, but it´s on a good way. Prices for artifacts are always reflecting the time and patience it takes to farm them. If prices for artifacts would become too low, people would stop farming them (because they can make more profit by just farming plain money). So "decent" prices are making sure that the supply won´t stop and people will keep bringing stuff into the cycle.

I think it all boils down to a different approach on the entire system. You´re comparing the numerical value of ingame money with the item. I`m comparing playtime with playtime. For me, playing x hours will give me the equivalent of y in goods (items, xp, rp´s whatever). And I don´t care whether I`m spending 50p or 1p if I`m able to farm both ammounts in 1 hour.

Any single class in this game can make as much or as little money as they like. Being a paricular class is no longer an excuse for having no money. There are countless ways of making money in this game.
