I don't get what the hype is with Orton, he has an average look, a brutal face and a shit attitude. He plainly isn't the next Steve Austin and yet they have been pushing this shit at us for 12 months now whilst ignoring far better talent, as you already pointed out Christian is one of them but is being buried.

Orton is the second biggest face in the WWE right after Cena. Without trying he gets cheered out of buildings. He does nothing a "face" does yet he gets cheered. After losing Edge the WWE needed to move a big face to Smackdown and Orton fits the bill. They had no way of getting him in the Main Event at Extreme Rules meaning either Christian and ADR had to win the belt and lose it back to him. And while I like Christian he gets a very small reaction compared to Orton but he should of at least held the belt until the next PPV.

That being said i would rather see him work his way upto the main event again before winning the belt and holding it. The reign he had was always just because Edge vacated the belt. Working his way up to the belt will mean much more.

Christian could have very easily gotten over as a heel but they don't trust him enough. Never have never will. If he'd walked out on Orton on the tag team match on Smackdown (the week after they'd exchanged the belt) and after Orton was pummeled by Shamus and Mark Henry had come back and kicked the shit out of him some more the match would have been set.

Christian could have played the whole "I've learned my lesson, I now see the only way to get ahead is the Edge way, take every opportunity" line of bullshit and the crowd could have got behind Orton more giving Smackdown that face they're after, not that I fucking think that Orton has ever been any good as a face.

No, he was buried 5 years before that happened. He had a short run after E&C and then was slowly shoved down into a lower mid or even opener on the card. He had every right to slag them off, he was buried because he didn't have 'the look' even though he was the hardest worker on the card and had great talent plus a ton of charisma.

To be fair though neither of those has the charisma or mic skills required to be a main eventer, Christian does and alway has. The real fans love him, the newer fans get behind him if the story is good, he should be working main events all the time but Vince just uses him as a utility player to fill gaps. If he was 50lbs of pure muscle heavier he would a 10 time HW champion by now, even if he couldn't wrestle as well. Talk and look sells, the actual skill of wrestling comes a very distant third sadly.

I always though Bryan could cut a decent Promo given time, he was interesting in ROH. I think its just how he is being used that makes him look like he can't talk. He has not had the mic in his hand yet on Smackdown.

But i agree on Christian he has owned whatever character they had him play, but he has never had "the look" he needs to succeed.

Actually he does, his Captain Charisma shirts have been consistent sellers since day one and when he gets main event status they always sell out of stock. I heard that arguement on another forum but luckily someone who works in the factory that makes those shirts corrected the original poster. Christian has always been and remains a popular guy, he just needs to spotlight on a regular basis to get a more mainstream fanbase. Will never happen though, he isn't one of the chosen.
