Would Dyvet players put money where their mouth is?

Quit over a year ago (again). Even though I have many fond memories of DAoC and would gladly return if it was even remotely worth it.. but its not. I thought that the release of the classic server would 'revitalise' the game but it didn't. Its a waste of money to return now, I've just accepted the fact that its 'game over' for DAoC UK.
Now I'm stuck in WoW solely doing PvE stuff :( The PvP is so terrible there thats its a worse joke then anything GOA have been able to conjure up.

Roll on Warhammer! Really looking forward to it.

Two accounts already canceled and closed. Last one stays open for the next part of the Dragon campaign.

Maeloch and other poster hit nail on head.

What could it possibly achieve? There would be no 'good' outcome from any sort of action. Just play duvet and get whatever fun you can out of its final months. If you really wanted to protest, target the WAR fan site forums and let them know what has happened. I could make other suggestions about how to protest, but don't think they are in keeping with being a mod. ;)

And there is another practicality. You dont cancel subs, you just cancel auto renewal. You can't all say tommorow we all want our cash back from the last sub payment and wont then renew for a certain period of time. So you just get a load of people letting subs run out at different times, leaving it for a day or two, then renewing - doesnt appear to anyone to be much of a protest as it probably looks like that anyhow.

All my accounts have had autorenewal cancelled since the TT incident. So as a start at least (and i probably shouldnt be saying this for several reasons), everyone should check they also removed the autorenewal flag - dont get caught by a 3 or 6 month auto renewal.

Moved to US. Going to clean up my vaults and houses, then let subs run out. Would be cool if they offered to copy characters to the US servers ... yeah right.

Two accounts cancelled subs running out soon on two more. Gonna be playing US from today. Mid Kay with another guildy. I believe there are a few Euro players there and the RvR is good.

DooooM has hit Dyvet!

Now, I'm willing to bet, one way or the other, albs will own all relics and every single keep/tower there is on the server before it is closed. Anyone willing to take the bet? :flame:

Problem is theres no other games out there with a half decent PvP system to be in competition with DAOC.

RvR offered a good balance between pvp and pve, without the usual horrible 'pk' element of most mmorpg's so you could choose wether to be exposed to it or not. Nor did it have the lame 'collesium' style pvp fights of the rest of the market.

What we had was a plausible frontier situration that made sense and offered good incentive to take part without being compulsary for the most part. A great balance that there is still no other games out there can match, it beggers belief that no other mmorpgs have thought to copy this effective template for their games and I imagine this is partially due to not wanting to be seen to copy an idea alas.QUOTE]

Omg i actually agree with u for once<3

I was finishing template of my 8th caster :D

19 chars lvl 50 now

WEeeeeeeeeeeeeee well now RP's are in short Supply you can go make a 20th Lvl 50.

You may need to do a lot of assasin missions tho for you rps soon rofl as it seems Hibs/Mids have finally had enough I would say guard missions but Alb practically own most keeps so not much there for you.

So TBH PL Session at Bolg Fins be good for you no worry of any enemies being around xp is nice there so have fun :worthy:

I don't play any more, I'd like to point that out before the trolls inc to get a free flame attempt off. Personally I don't give a flying fuck what happens to Dyvet now, however, I would like to see a game (and server) I used to love live on.

I read a lot of whining on the forums about this and that and the fact GOA won't do anything about the problem, also, a lot of crying, bitching and moaning.

Trouble is I see this from the same people month after month, this is particularly funny when it's from the people who cry and say they are cancelling their subs.

I would like to know how many people would actually BE WILLING AND WOULD cancel their subs on a particular day if organised by someone here? (not me, I have no interest in leading the charge)

Because to honest it seems people on this forum are all talk and no fucking action and that's what got the server into the shit state it is in now, I would actually like to re-sub the minstrel for a spin but no way in hell I would do it reading about the current state of RvR.

So come on...who would actually take part in a "strike" as it were and spread the word to non fh readers to do the same?

Not many I reckon.

think most have anyways now :p

It's sad. And in retrospect was obvious the english servers would be the first lot to take the hit when the populations dropped. ofc would be last thing anyone worried about back in the day :).

Anyhow, nothing made me /qtd faster than the lvl of action out atm. Log on, see it's obvious nothing out again, go. Rather get zerged down 50 times in a row than that shit.
