Please continue the discussion as to whether or not you will renew your subs.

Feel free to comment on why you will or will not be renewing as this will more than likely be a little helpful to Game/BW.

Never subscribed plus have no plans to at the moment - there's really no need. At the moment i'm only really playing BF1942 and there's tons of decent, low-ping, frequently populated, free servers I can get to via ASE.

I will not be renewing. that is because I have note used the BW servers since they went P2P, so no point in me renewing

I play Bf and Q3F on line, afaik, there are no more BW Q3F servers (I could be wrong on that) and there are loads of BF servers, which are not p2p where my friends play.

Which is a shame, as I've been with BW for as long as I can remember - and I can't afford PS subs and Cable bills as well as another lump of money which I already consider badly spent.

And you can't use the if you just went on there others would follow argument on me, as throddy and adams will testify, i'm one of the few who turn up regularly for the organised nights of the games I play.

This is correct . As Scooba said in another thread, if [G] and KEA wern't around, the servers would have been permanently empty.

Probably. 12 quid is not much, and if it means keeping the servers up and running well, it's a worthy donation. Of course it doesn't work like that, because there's never enough people of this mindset to keep it going.

That isnt even a viable question as the majority wouldnt have.

Now if the servers were 10% public and 90% subs then yes.

Surely all that would then happen in that case leggy is that people would try really hard to get on the public servers and then if they couldn't would just go elsewhere - as used to be the case when our CS servers were chocka all evening and finding a server with 2 free slots to play on with yer m8 was quite difficult.

Obviously not, but the recurring idea of open to the public till 8.30 with a warning, or limiting public slots to leave room for subbies has come up again and again and again and again.

It's sooooo blindingly obvious, most people in internet land don't even realise that these servers exist as they are invisible in ase/gayspy unless you're logged on. Indeed the guy who got me started in online games, (bastard stole my life) thought that BW had just folded and the servers were gone, until I explained it too him.

People would sub in their droves if they were enjoying fantastic games on great servers, but had to leave at a certain time to make way, they'd go, 'Bugger me it's fantastic playing on these servers, I think I'll pay up so I can keep on with my buddies....'
