I didn't say they weren't. I have no doubt that if I cut off my past shoulder length hair I would have an easier time getting a job.
Oh christ...
And for tris: It shouldnt be used as an excuse. But then, i never said that ?
This is exactly why i didn't answer you in any constructive way.
You think everything is about you.
"i never said that", when it's a point that tris- makes.
You're wrong, people don't give a f*ck about what you look like, individuals might.
Probably individuals like you.
People really do care about what people look like.

i dont agree at all.
i dont goto the gym to mark out of 10 what everyone in there looks like.
i go there to lift heavy ass weights and sweat my tits off.
i couldnt give a shit what anyone in there looks like.
I am not talking about what someone in the gym looks like, I am talking about in the grand scale of the world looks actually do have a big effect on peoples lives.
Surely as someone who has lost a lot of weight you did so because you did not like how you looked? You were restricted to things that you could do?
He said it as a response to me you jackass.
And no we don't agree, people and individuals are a different matter. People usually means all, a lot, general public, and the general public doesn't give a f*ck about your looks.
Sorry I just think that's entirely untrue..
I've very rarely been in a pub with a bunch of mates that haven't commented on the "looks" of women that wandered past to some extent. Sure it might not be the only thing we notice, but it's certainly not something that is overlooked. Go look at the pictures of "fat people" that have been posted in the past on this very forum and the flood of comments about how it doesn't matter, it's their personality that's important... Oh no wait, the comments probably were much more along the lines of "who ate all the pies" wern't they?
People don't give a fook about your looks when they know you. When they don't it's pretty much all they have to go on.
Lets not forget that recently a bunch of kids killed someone simply based on how they looked!
People saying, who cares what other people think of you are probably normal enough that they don't really get noticed by other people. Go into a pub and you'll see 95% of the people there simply blend in with the others. If your in that 95%, then I really don't think you have a clue what your talking about.
First have to comment on the internet forum: Anonymity brings more rude behaviour. And if that fat person is the topic, then ofcourse it's noticed. Taking a piss out of someone o these forums, not comparable.
again, different from people caring how you look. And do you care if a fat woman is in a bar? No, you might make a snappy comment and that's it, you forget her existance.
About being in the 95%(which is bullcrap in itself), no i'm not in it. Nor am i trying to be in or out of it. People who think someone is "out of the general" or "in that group of people", are excactly the problem people...like you.
You'll find that internet forums bring more direct rude behaviour. Laughing at someone on an internet forum and laughing at someone in real life who you think can't see you really arn't that far apart. In the UK as long as there's more than 2 of them they will actually be quite happy to say it to your face..
That's sort of the point isn't it? Yeah the people might not really care how you look but when you go through life constantly hearing snappy comments then it can effect you. For you it's a snappy comment then back to your pint. For the other person it's listning to a snappy comment, then on to the next table to hear their snappy comment. The fact the people behind you have forgotten about you really isn't that much comfort.
If you don't think the 95% group exists then i'm guessing you are actually in it. Try going out one night wearing your normal gear and see how many people actually notice you. Go out the next night naked with I am Jesus painted across your body. See if you get treated exactly the same by everyone.. After all no-one except one or two people is actually paying any attention to you, or cares what you look like right?
For you. Not for everyone. Most people are careful of what they say, and on an internet forum, they don't need to worry about it.
I don't believe it's 95%, all that is meant, but nice of you to avoid the whole point in that.
You might be lucky enough to not give a crap what people think of you. Some people arn't that lucky.
Ok, let me put it another way.
People might not actually care about what you look like. Some people care about what others think about them tho. Now you can argue they are right or wrong to do that, but it's just the way it is.
If your one of the people that actually care what others think of you, then does it not make sense to avoid situations where you'll be subjected to listening to endless streams of abuse from people who think you can't see or hear them?
You might be lucky enough to not give a crap what people think of you. Some people arn't that lucky.
so its an excuse not to do things....
Sure if you want to discuss semantics..
I'm not sure a desire not to be constantly ridiculed and lazy can be classified as the same thing tho!
I'm quite sure I can find a large number of people who would be happy to walk 10 miles, but not to walk 10 miles naked while people take pictures to post on the internet and make fun of.
