Very well put, but it's much easier for Mid to make a balanced group. Your healer is also your CC and wears chain, your backup healer is also your end-bot (in the form of a buff so group still has it even if shammie is mezz/stun/dead). Throw in a skald for speed and a bunch of fotm savages and you've got a very tough group.

if shammie is dead, end is gone
if shammie is resurrected, he must cast 8 end buffs! while pala or bard must only turn on song / chant.
pala or bard have higher survival rating than shammies.

Nonsense.

In a FOTM-group a shaman with insta-disease PBAoE, chain-armour, fully buffed atleast same HP as a bard (being in same base-class) and backupped with 3 healers has a higher survival rate then a bard who faces 2-3 savages.

Shamans have an unspecced shield and chain as defense, bards (while running End-chant) have studded (reinforced) and evade 2 as defense.

Now add 3 healers and insta PB-disease and it will become much harder to drop the shaman then the bard. Also dont forget its easy to put someone in the group who looks like the shaman, while you cannot 'dress' a tank as a bard.

Do not forget that even when the shaman is mezzed the buff still gives endurance.

But if a Bard/Paladin is mezzed/stunned or simply out of range (very short range have endurance chants). No endurance regen.....

This is typical one of the things that make these Mid FOTM groups posible. No skill needed.

Ok, so as paladins have to "purge" the mezz/stun to give the group end regen, you see that as "skill"?

Not really...

Well no. But Purge is on a 30 minutes timer.

The paladin has to make a choice: Either leave the group without endurance during for instance a shield-slam.

Or leave the group without endurance during the initial mesmerize.

Midgard endurance is pretty much continuous unless the shaman dies. Even then the savage can still continue to wtfpwn due to their endurance-buff (convert hp to endurance).

Your endurance has no hick-ups during CC etc. Ours has. It does make a difference.

It's really funny: Alot of Mids think they're more skilled/better players then the enemie while it's just the fact they got overpowered-classes (savages) and very very very very conveniently have stuff like uninterruptable end-regen once buffed, healers with all kinds of CC available, etc etc.

If an Alb-group goes to Midgard and make a FOTM-group (like JH) dont you think they're gonna own? Yes they do. JH or whatever aren't better players, its just atm. they got better classes.

Oh get real. To say that it doesn't take any skills to play mid classes. You are meeting ppl who got a real good idea of how to play theyr class, which is also pretty good. Midgard does not have: BoF, Baod, GP, SoS, TWF and so on. So what if our end reg is better in one way than the other. Shammy dead and if rezzed must cast 8 buff spells, pally/bard just flip on a chant makes up for some. Sure svages are a good class, but I would not say they are teh ubah-insta-win shiz all of you talk about.
A wellplayed hib grp can wtfpwn insanely. A reg/nat druid has a kind of ichor in spec line, 36 nature insta aoe root(not bolt range or silly dmg but wth). BM's can deal some sweet amount of dmg in a short time. Bard's have insane amount of interrupt power, insta amnesia(both aoe and single) with a short recast.
A good alb grp should be able to make the most advantage of bolt range mezz, good tankage in the form of mercs, bof from clerics coupled with great heals, a wellplayed pally should do just fine for end and the occasional slam and guarding clerics.
All realms require skills to play, nuff said!

do you play midd? if not how would you know that its easier to make a balanced midd grp?.... there are no differances between the realms.. they all need 8 classes, 8 good players and it takes time and effort to make groups in all realms.... its just not to grab a skald here, grab a healer there grab a shaman there, insert 5 savages and "pwn" like you seem to think it is...

Of course it takes skill to play mid, but your effectiveness in rvr is not measured by your ability to control your char alone, a lot of other factors are equally if not more important than player skill.

Look, we can all agree that :

Midgard = Super duper easy mode
Hibernia = Normal mode, but because of low population on many servers, this ends up being Hard mode
Albion = Nightmare fucking hard mode, but because of high population on most servers this can get reduced down a bit.

Basicly, mid has it way too easy in way too many ways.

Haha.. yeah. Extremely bright post.

I know we are talking about Excalibur here but ill tell you that on Gawaine US mid was terribly sucky in rvr. There were fotm-guilds there, they had no chance against albs or hibs. Except for a few guilds who played smart and did not get zerged.

Over there its:

Hibernia: BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-Thanks-for-teh-rps-mode
Albion: Normal Mode
Midgard: Just roll a stealther and stay away from fgs-mode

pala does, due to shieldspec, being a 'tank' class (so not often being primary target over cleric/sorc)

but i'd say pbae diseases gives sham a higher survival rating than bards tbh

sheph in opted hib group (caster) vs Xana-gang
5-5 in 10 fights

atm with savages
sheph in opted hib group (caster) vs Xana-gang
2-8 in 10 fights

mid is easier to play today... they dash out more damage faster... which is what RvR is a lot about

ofc mebbe i can play tank group but by choosin to play in mage realm... well...

I might have been a bit off when i explained it.

What i meant was: On Gawaine it did not matter if you had high rr char and really knew what you were doing because hibs and albs had this knowledge pretty much throughout all of their ranks. You never really noticed new people coming to any of the realms (Gawaine is one of the bottom 5 servers if you count population) so most of the players there were skilled and had played since the beginning. On Excalibur new players emerge every day it seems.

Im kind of getting off track, but here it is shortened up for you:

On Gawaine most people were very good players and in the face-offs we had there Hibs and Albs were the victors most of the time. Due to two reasons: They KNEW how to play and they had a tad bit higher numbers than the mids. But even though mids were a bit outnumbered a mid fotm-fg couldnt (we are talking like 80% losing for the mids) beat a regular hib/alb-fg.

You kind of understood me wrong i think.. my post was about the fact that smart people can beat other people pretty much all the time even if you do not consider realm.

Excalibur is a bad example imo, the majority of the alb population play in randomgroups and therefor gets shredded by mid fotm-groups.

So short and simple: Mids might be easy-mode on excalibur, but its not easy-mode if you consider the whole game.

I didnt play mid at that time, just specualting :) My points is that pre-nerfed zerkers were just as lethal as savages.

quick question, why is it you think savages r actually called FOTM over all the servers? its not because the person behind it is an uber player but because they r above other classes in terms of damage output etc etc etc, fair enough generally albs are not great players here, but mids are far from uber skilled mad leet, they just have the best characters available to them as it stands. Hibs, used to own on this server before SC etc cos of pbaoe being insanely damaging on low resits, combined with 3 pure mages, self debuff nukes yadda yadds. Its not like the hibs were uber players then and suddenly went to midgard and decided to make midgard uber, its for the greater part totally based on classes and class combinations.

Overall, put it this way, put 3 seperate fg's out to fight, 1 mid 1 hib 1 alb, all with perf grp set up, lets say all rr6 and all exactly as good players as each other, as it stands mid would win the majority of the fights, due only to the classes and class combinations they currently possess.

Hmmm - so Albs get their balance on 30 minute timers for RPs spent.

Swap you for healers any day of the week - best damn rvr class in the game imho.
