currently:

new servers are US only (so new account/subscription fee for most) and you cannot transfer characters (not even from the US ones).

They don't even have /level on the server.

Personally: Even if we got a european one you could transfer to I'd not bother

I can see the attraction of no /level, as it would put everyone on an even keel to start with - no money to transfer, no items to swap, no powerlevelling - back to the day when i first rolled my merc.

Groups would be essential, Salisbury Plains will be crowded again and we can all look forward to Dunter hunting and camping the Pygmy-gobbos or Trees in Lyonesse...

It'd maybe bring SOME of the magic back, but more than anything i would expect it to be a social rebirth for the whole community - some will go in groups, some will go alone and make new friends, but it's gonna be interesting...

Any guesses on how long it would take to have a Euro one up n running? Not a date, i meant how long in time from conception, ordering hardware, recoding, etc...

Either Dark and Light or Darkfall Online. I'm kinda interested in both. Although DFO has no release date and seems somewhat dead atm. DnL was due end this year? Nice!

However, I`m almost sure that this server will be spoiled by retards running around with BB´s /stick to their asses. The urge to wtfpwn other people is stlong in this game.
If they really wanted to solve the BB thing, they should have considered to completely remove the ability to buff other people in RvR.

I doubt I'll be playing on a new server IF one does pop up, ToA made me take a step back and see that I only need one charactor to have fun, so I focused on my favourite charactor. ToA made me group up more due to needing to gain items, ML's and level artifacts, I met more people and had more fun playing with others in PvE, then I did leveling up with SI.

If I did, I'd make a Ranger perhaps, as I already have a Hunter and Scout.


PS. I think people just like whining about PvE full stop blaming it all down to ToA, not keen charactor progression developing a charactor through a RPG style game imo.

Possibly people will run with BB's stuck but steathers wont and a stuck BB isnt really that easy to play with. Normally it just means 2 times the rps for a fg roaming. I tried running with it once and tbh it was such a hassle i stopped. Levelling a BB from level 1 with no fop etc is also gonna be a lot more work, I dont imagine we will see them for 2-3 months if at all.

Ill be moving as even if the first two moonths are a 'golden age' and then the server turns to shit it will still be worth it as the first two months have the potential to be very very good. Obviously keeping all my excali accounts handy so i can easily return

Hibs potentially have the strongest grp at the moment if the conc pool stays the same as they are the only realm whose optimal grp can fully buff everyone (with no ml4 ability). Having said that definetly trying a new realm over there.

i didnt even know about the RvR part until i happened to be in Excal one day, exploring, at level 15 and there was an attempt at the relics - i swear, i sat there thinking, "holy cow, thats a lot of trolls..." then sat and fired arrows at them until i scored a single point of damage on some d0rf... i was soo pwoud!!!

Attempts to turn the clocks back to re-create something from a long time before never, ever work. Even if you manage to recreate the conditions, the participants have changed, and can never be the same.

Come on, we all know what's going to happen here. The "I MUST BE TEH PWNZOR" min-maxers will just /stick their BBs and PL themselves through the levels as fast as they possibly can so they can crush everyone else in the RvR part of the game, just like they did all that time ago. Except now they'll be doing it even faster in Catacombs zones, with Catacombs gear, SC'd to the hilt, and the disparity between them and everyone else will take less time to emerge than it did 2+ years ago.

If you think this server (if we get it in Europe, and let's be honest GOA since still haven't even managed to provide us with all the server choices US players have enjoyed for nearly 4 years now, what makes you think the 'TOA Never Happened' server will be any different?) will somehow magically provide instant happy fun land for everyone, you're in for a very rude awakening indeed.

Dude, a lot of what you're basing this on is the way other servers have panned out. This being a brand new server will mean there'll be no-one able to transfer you cash, so we all start as paupers. It'll mean no decent crafters for a good couple of weeks, at least. It'll mean no PLing for a while. It'll mean no 1337ness for 15 minutes, and that is enough to tempt me, tbph

I think this server would be perfect for the comunity, atleast for the players who likes the player verus player fights, instead of fight vs mobs.

I understand, that lots of people like the pve part of the game, they enjoy doing master levels, and they enjoy farming and killing evil cyclops etc etc etc.. Thats because, they can be doing it all the time, the RVR condition is just optional, you can go farm and never tounch emain etc. But thats diferent with the people who REALLY BOTHER pve. personaly, i've toaed 3 chars. (some of them more than 1 time). But it was just so boring. What if i only like to fight other people? tbh to kill npcs i prefer to play a no online game ;/ it may be funny when u do it with other people. OK. But we dont have the option to fight and fight!, we need to do all the farming shit. Ding 50 isnt a problem. It goes fast. But getting MLs... grp steps... then BG raids... then artefacts.. always down.. scroll farm... it takes just ages, for the people who only enjoy pvp. tbh i've rerolled few time ago in exc, i managed to ding 50 pretty fast and w/o probs, get with my druid ml6 but now i cant hold it anymore, it was so sucky, i play the game and i dont get fun. adding that every few time,t he new classess are making it even more unbalanced, so people make new chars because their old ones are just useless now. That means he needs to get a new TOA sc. w/p toa sc u cant go rvr.... With that server, we asure that, all people start from 0. so find a grp will be easy, ding 50 will be easy aswell. The best thing is that, when we ding 50. we will need just make a few quests, to get some gewels etc, and then just order a 99% and get fully rdy to rvr! thats how it works, thats what i like. People who like farm, will still be able to go farm like in old days, but w/o fop.. making it harder, wich more tactic.. (kk still have pet spam ;<)

Anyway, im rly looking forward this server, the chance to remove catacombs area would be nice imo. I didnt buy it, because it didnt offered me any item better than toa. and i wasnt gonna make any of the classes. Now it will offer items better than SI. Who knows, maybe this is a new tactic to sell more catacombs :worthy: People will farm there to get some items with caps etc (i've just heard this, never farmed or went there, but they should drop stat cap items?) Anyway, i dont think this will make such diference.

Please, give SI server =)
