Whats the biggest changes you'd like to see in daoc?

What are your top 5 biggest changes you would like to see in daoc how it is right now?

Mine would prolly be..

1. Clerics nerfed MORE and their ae mez timers matching healers

2. Stun removed from hib casters.

3. BeastCraft removed from hunters and them given shield ability.

4. Spec points for all stealthers identical.

5. Shamans given more self protection i.e insta mez/root so they can escape danger.

make clerics better
and get away with see hidden cause it makes the game real bad for archers imho

From the Hunters point of view:
1. Make Detect Hidden work as it was inteded.
2. Remove See Hidden.
3. Make bow damage range based.

From the Runies point of view:
OMG NERF ME ;)

From the Healers point of view:
1. Give them RPs for healing, mezzing, debuffing.
2. Give them a DD.

From the Warriors point of view:
RP Cow :m00: Muuuuuuuh, cool though ;)

@Pudz NO, don't give me a shield! I love my spear!

Edit:
I want a way to switch weapons/arrows (Mythic wanted to implement 3 quivers to draw from wich were assignable to quickbar slots.) without haveing to move things in my inventory.

'Hey Mr. Highlander can you hold on a second? I have a thrust spear somewhere in my pack!'

Give them ae mez equivalent to healers and that would be reasonable. PBAE != Ranged AE.

In Midgard, the horse route from Gna Faste to Raumarik should go through Huginfell instead of bloody Audliten !!!

-no more baseline stun for hib casters, put it in some useless line like enchantment or something like they did with sm rez

-remove IP, or make it like said earlier a high absorption buff for a short time

-rp for mezzing/healing/etc in rvr, encouraging healers and druids to rvr actively

-Give warriors a class defining ability

-lower pbae damage, or increase casting time or power cost

-give infiltrators 2.2x specpoints, the possibility of dragonfang makes up easily for 2h weapons and a shabby DD

-give shadowblades a decent class defining RA

-Fix berserker class defining RA, less damage when dual wielding is like saying PA should do less damage when you use it when stealthed

-make resists visible, show how many damage you would have taken so you can nerf! with a reason (fire wizzies anyone)

- get those asshole drakulv back in their original position and so midgard can have an easy access to the 40-50 levelling grounds

1 - Leave all characters as they are. Constantly changing char specs makes for uncertainty (not to mention whinging!).

2 - Enable all horses to travel to all towns, unlike the equine cartel we have at the moment.

3 - Install Bindstones at RvR teleports (you still have to wait for next teleport).

Most hib casters don't have enchantments, it's chanter specific. They should move stun to the light specline and put single target root in mana baseline IMO.

This is coming in 1.52 i think.. I know it is on the american servers atm.

lol... one of the best so far.

I'd like to see more personalisation options... by this I mean things like:
-hats (as mentioned earlier)
-hood on/off type thing (as mentioned earlier)
-way more cloaks (different types)
-more SHAPES of shield and weapons (not necessarily new weapon types if you know what I mean). Shields could have spikes for example.
-casting words being said by casters
-fighting classes could shout things
-maybe each guild, as in Defenders of Albion etc., could have their classes say various things in battle
-personal horses would rock if they are implemented some day... although it could affect the game too much
-with SI we could have flying butterflies and birds and such...
-generally mobs shouting things in their own languages...
-jewelry, not the regular kind but more medieval or in other words: large... for example bracelets or bracers with spikes...
-more helmet types, well not ypes but models... ones with spikes and some with brush type things etc.

Ah, I'll add more later... trying to watch TV.

Just noticed this, I like it much better than personal horses that can travel anywhere. This wouldn't be a TOO LARGE change and I find it excellent, any others like this?

More zones.

A skill based system instead of class based. Daoc is really boring imho because your character never really evolves away from how it was at level 5. Sure some classes get 3 unique lines (like wizzies) but they are gimped if they don't spec at least 1 high, and very gimped if they spec all 3 reasonably high. Because it is class based, it is too limiting. I want a cloth wearing caster with evade and dual wield daggers goddamit, all those skills exist in the game, but I can't play that class :(

Improved crafting system. Don't care what anyone says, crafting in this game sucks. Its tedious, expensive and annoying. It probably should be some of those things at some points. Problem is it is all of those things all of the time (past a certain skill level)

A travel system much improved over the crappy horse routes we have now. Try getting from Barrows to Forest Sausage quickly, sucks.

Some kind of exp reward or reduced exp loss on death for soloers. Some classes have to solo lots, some people like to solo lots. I know its an MMORPG but for those of us with kids/lives who can't give 3hrs of flat out concentration so the group doesn't wipe out, soloing is reality sometimes. Sucks that solo you take an enormous risk soloing a yellow (after 40) for a pittance of exp, only to lose tons when you miss (see below) a few hits and die. In groups exping is safer, so the penalty for dying should be high. Exping solo is inherently dangerous, so the exp loss should reflect this. Also helps those poor stealthers who are lepers in most exp groups.

Misses. Seems totally arbitrary. I know its a random number generator yadda yadda., but this is really a throwback to crappy D&D nonsense. I am a character highly trained in my weapon, I wield a monstrous 2h hammer that swings very slowly. If I miss a few, I die. I believe in skill, not luck to win fights. Sure an element of luck should play a part, but from many personal experiences, that part is too high.

No, clerics are utterly different to healers. I hate it when the uneducated post stuff like this. Healer is a CC class, has no offense apart from an unspecced hammer (imagine an unspecced hammer when they fix parry/block). Healers only offense is defense. Solo Clerics mezz to kill, solo Healers mezz to escape (mostly). Mythic nerfed cleric mezz because pabeomezz on a 30 SECOND timer + Smite was overpowered. The cleric mezz was always personal protection for the cleric, not a group CC tool.

I wasn't suggesting that cleric be given healer mez, just that putting cleric mez on the same timer as healer's is farcical because healer mez is so much more powerful.

This is an excellent idea.

Give rp when dead (if your group just makes the kill after you got beaten to a pulp, maybe like 20/40 sec after you died), for mezz, for heals (although far less than when you actually do some damage)

I like this one lots, should be for exp as well. I was recently in a group who moved from safe red cons to risky purples. I was tanking with a Merc (only real tank in group heh). Wasn't going too well, the clerics did their best to keep me alive, the casters casted :) and I died seconds before the mob died. "WOW great exp!!!" everyone says. Not so for me, although I was absolutely instrumental in that kill.

exp and RP whilest dead will never happen, but in some circumstances it is absolutely justified. Mob HP = 500, dmg the aggro the dead guy held = 100%. Exp for dead guy = 0. Exp for everyone else = millions. :rolleyes:

hmm, my wiev.

Berserker - getting ranged weapon next patch, axes! what need buy lol, like early lvl:s copper grow in trees, no, dont mean willows!

Runemaster - well, musta say this class is from my view nice class, hate just rc lines bolts miss/target is in combat etc etc crap. played only lvl 24!

Hunter - dunno if i start cry, started daoc whit this over 1/2 year ago, now lvl 24, sometimes all goes fine and suddenly 4 arrows in row miss, spear miss.
arrow range is joke, spear damage is joke, bc line is, well, joke.
no defense! speed buff what cut if even some mob look me angry, stealth what all assasins see thrue, and we all know how much those are :(
pets, well, my dad has dog too and need go time by time out to walk whit it, feels same whit this, these pets just dont have needs :)
pet buffs dont do anything to pet, tested.
all spear anytime styles has penalty to defense, spear stun is 3 second! when one hit take time 4-5 seond :) etc etc etc.

lol, first one sounds nice and would add to he "realism" if such a thing can be achieved in this type of a game. Then again this would very very very very likely be exploited :rolleyes:

Second collision detection you mentioned.... r-o-f-l, I'm in ! :D

5. level 10-15 bg (my alts cant get above 15)
