Whats the biggest changes you'd like to see in daoc?

1. Remove stealth from the game.
2. Remove Assasines from the game.
3. Nerf Assasines like nobody plays them anymore.
4. Nerf Assasines so other classes have at least a slight chance.
5. Give me a level 50 Infil with RR5.

An arena where we (all three realms) could meet and talk to each other, (not everyone uses irc) while waiting to duel each other.. if it is deemed as rp farming... make the duels for no rps :)

Just a thought.

1) Infiltrators should be nerfed to the same spec points as NS / SB's.

2) Clerics insta heals should be taken away and given to friars.

3) All tanks (armsman , hero, warrior) should get a battle shout which increases their stats in some way.

4) Horses as said above should go to all towns.

5) All 3 BG keeps should be involoved in the opening of DF which would give reason for taking them and to get others into murdaigen / caledonia.

6) Again all 3 BG's should have a limit to how many assasins ( infil's , nightshades , SB's) are allowed to enter as there are to many.

7) Also said above the cloak ( hooded , non-hooded ) command would be good.

8) Looking for a group system sould be changed , doesn't work to well , tuff to find groups when not in guilds with alliances.

9) Defenders of albion guild should have their lvl 15 epic quest shouldn't be so long IMO *cough* took me 5 hours the very first time i did it *cough*.

10) Remove see hidden.

11) Bought weapons ( from merchants or players ) should be allowed to be dyed but only with 30G dye.



i'll let you know if i think of any others, thats it for now :)

Would you then give them a dd or somthing to make up for the diff as they dont have a dd or 2h weapon choice?

Very good idea imho. Why the hell do clerics need it anyway besides while exping? Hmm? What... a cleric is going to go up to a tank and start hammering him down with 4 HP bars (IP)?

I think this takes away the meaning of classes, well maybe not this alone but things like this...

Brilliant, many others said this too. But I love this idea and I bet most do.

Either this or give it to archers. Both decisions make perfect sense FFS...
Assassins still get butt-loads of RP without having the option to kill archers and minstrels as much. They already "r0xx0r3d" archers before See Hidden, now it is just ridiculously easy.

I likes it... anything that makes chars more unique is good.

The major class changes as i could see should be changed is minstrels and clerics

Clerics will be fixed next patch so no real hurry.
Minstrels mezz should count as combat like every other mezz in the game, so they cant keep running while they mezz.

Excepy for that the rest of the classes i pretty well balanced, maybe except for warrior who should have a class dependent skill like mentioned.

Then theres all the small stuff, like horse routes etc.
The thing about dyed weapons are cool though, very cool

1. Fix hunters or remove the class and replace em with something usefull that have classabilities meant for retail not beta. nuff said :)

To give you an idea of the life of a hunter and his/her defensive/survival capabilites. Watch this and replace "Shrew" with "Hunter" http://www.sveaulvar.com/pygmy.swf ;)

2. Remove See Hidden, True Sight and Vanish.

3. Give infils and sbs some other class defining ability (do I need to mention Hunters class defining ability btw - rofl)

4. Only let tanks be able to buy IP and make it only a half heal or so to reduced cost.

5. Nerf stun/mezz some more :p

6. Give midgard more classes, especially one more class with ressurrect ability in a decent specc line.

7. Replace Sanya with someone else, prefarably a mammal but not necessarely. Anything else is will do. ;)

changes

1 - Reduce RvR-damage so a fight dont last 5 sec but a little more

2 - Fix the bugged IP and Purge

3 - Remove AoE-Mez

4 - Remove stelth, put in some high grass, make 'stealthers' able to sneak - not invisibility

5 - make it possible to hear enemies

6 - Give healingclasses a shieldspecline with autotrain.

7 - Remove stun

8 - make it possible to Dye weaons

9 - make it possible to buy different designs of safe armour AF like scaleplate

10 - inset more rare drops

11 - make rare drop rare and not farm-able

12 - make lowerlevel mob drop more armour (level 10-30 mobs - dont speak of magical drops)

13 - close DF, or make the exp worse so its possible to level above 30 elsewhere (no groups at tanglers/threes anymore)

14 - make it a little easier to level from 40 - 50

15 - make it possible to remove players from the guild without them being online

16 - enable %t in macros like in everquest

17 - /nonehooded /hooded claoks

18 - /kilt /nokilt for highlanders

19 - make it possible for wizards to choose Vest or robe as epic-armour

20 - Give armsmen and paladins ability to chopose 1handed Thrust at level 5

21 - make it snow inside realms. England has snow right ?! :clap:

Introduce a limit on the number of times people can cry "NERF!!!" on Barrysworld.

Make people level alts in other realms than their main realm so they realise the other realms have balance problems also, and aren't 'teh ewul' powergamers they assumed all people in said realm were.

I like the idea of collision detection, but they would need to adjust some of the horse routes first..... just imagine standing on that corner in camp forest where the horse runs through the tree. Incoming rider #1... Clang!!! ... smacked into the tree, and dead on the ground. Rider #2.... Crunch!!! ... smacked into tree and dead on the ground. Rider # 3.... Jumps!!!.... Yay!!!!.... was too late, and jumped into the tree. Dead. etc etc etc

We could build some grandstands to watch, and get GOA to place an auto rezzer there just for some good sport..... well, it beats snooker in my book :D

apart from Jupitus' idea for "Crash of the Day", which i like lots :D as a merc, i only have 4 requests:

1 - Give me a proper charge ability... doesnt cost END, gives a 5 second, major speed buff. Perhaps just an allround, Battlerage kind of thing? Insta buff, that ups STR, CON & QUICK for say 30 seconds...

2 - Up my resists please? Im used to taking shots of posion, lightning, fire, ice, body, matter, cabbage, root, ice, pebbles... for gods sake, i used to do a lot of landscape gardening, and after a few years, i stopped getting blisters, as i had changed to cope with it. Its a form of evolution...

3 - Give me dancing lessons!!! why o why do i dance like a leper? Im not asking for anything like Saturday Night fever here (although... hmmmm... <rubs chin in thought> :) )

4 - make the AoE spells proportional to how far from the centre of the blast/mezz you are (i.e if Mjolliner is cast at point x, Sir A, being closer to the target, would take more damage than Sir B, who is right on the very edge of the area) AND how many the spell effects! If damage was distributed like XP, then that would mean a total damage amount split amongst all involved?

thats it really... <shrugs> most of the niggly stuff is covered above (horse routes, etc) but i do wonder why soo many people are whinging when us mercs get the raw end of the stick, even in the fighter classes! Armsmen can soak damage like lunatics, Paladins get a bit of a hand from some massive beardy bloke (stereotyping, i know ;) ) we get.... <drum roll> the chance to be mezzed with TWO WEAPONS in our hands! woohoo! <laughs> i pity the Blademasters too, as they seem to be in a similar boat to the mercs...

i dunno very well mid & alb classes yet to say that there is sth that very irritates me and makes the combat unfair...
maybe just all kinda Insta mez

but i wish exping lvl 40-50 was much faster, as i cant spend every day 5hs online, and even if, still loosing lots of time to find a group...
I schedule my 50 ding (mentalist) for some late december if lucky...
i wish it went much faster, so it wouldnt limit casual players to this only 1 high char on 1 realm, but let them try other classes with full enjoyment , on other realms also...
all this presuming i dont want exp chars in DAOC for next 10 years...

purely personal hate and prob get shotdown but...

This is a particular bugbear cause of playing a caster main but:

Make RvR stealth (it would only be fair to leave as is in PvP, as stealthers have a hard time grouping) only function when the stealther is within the vicinity of trees/buildings but not in the middle of an open area of grass. I don’t believe that this would make a stealthers life that much different, for example I would still expect the majority of the road from sauvage to excal to be stealthable (made up words :)) as its tree-lined. And we all have to pass through mile-gates However it would make it impossible for a SB to appear in front of me wielding dual, envenomed blades while I stand casting in a wide open area. What exactly were they stealthing behind, using blades of grass??

Rename stealth as Invisibility and at least be honest about it.

That’s my biggest required change and the one I would have if possible. It will never happen so I don’t think the stealthers of the game need slate me too much, though you are welcome to explain to me what it is you do hide behind in an open area, maybe then I can have a look for you when passing :)

Then again you are referring to realism. You might as well remove mach 2, 3, 4 and 5 from minstrels because no-one could run that fast from hearing music but some music might give you energy enough or such an effect that you are in a slightly faster speed :p
One could justify the stealth so that the assassins and archers are so good at moving around that they escape your eye... not necessarily invisible.
But hey, many other things should be removed if you talk about someone being "invisible" in the middle of a vast area with nothing in it.
Magic can always be justified but is that what minstrels have? :rolleyes:

You can easily push over the remove-stealth pleads that seem common, which are just about always received from the class that is SUPPOSED to be killed by stealthers... tanks might as well say remove damage spells since they own tanks. Assassins might as well say remove polearms or other tank weapons because they get killed due to them...

Removing stealth is way too drastic, actually changing it already is.

Couldnt agree more.

How about:

1) More ambient battle sounds.

2) More combat animations - try whacking something with a cleric for 2 minutes and you will see :)

3) A generic /taunt move that will randomise the actual action used.

4) More armour/shield types (someone already said that but i like it:) )

Theres only 1 change that this game. That is to make RvR fun and worthwhile.

The best way i can see of doing this, is to merge the frontiers and make fort/relic taking more war like. Rather then just zerging in emain.

- Make something for the lvl 50's. Instead of just doing RvR.. gets boring with all that zergin all the time. Zerging = no RvR = no DAoC for lvl 50.

- Make more emotes instead of those few there is

- A hotdog dude standing just outside each keep, so you can eat while bashing keep doors.

- New races thats are sexy!
- No base clothes just underwear!
- New weapon's for mid .. cos we have straight crap it sucks
- As mentioned - horses that go to a destination of your choice
- Niar, Coren and Soulfly to be personally nerfed via str stat to 5.
- Purge cheaper for all classes
- Shadowrun nerfed cos frankly its unfair
- Weapon size staying same from Troll to Luri would look funny

Infils can spec thrust and have higher hp than ns's afaik - sb's cant spec anything but slash that in its self makes up for the disadvantage - imo - ns's shouldnt have DD - infils shouldnt get vanish and shouldnt get 2.5x - their ability to spec thrust is a much greater ability than our 2h - which even tho slow - infils still do about tha same damage even tho they are all 1h wep users - also they hit faster and deal alot more damage than an sb can faster.

Hmm, I think the NICEST changes would be ones mentioned often which are the following:
-More emotes. If you quadrupled the amount it would add more fun to the game, especially RP-wise. Maybe 4 times the amount of emotes and 2-3 random types of ways each emote is displayed... it can't be that hard in my opinion and would be a nice addition.
-More combat animations, each style can have slgiht variations and the non-style hits would have maybe 5 very different animations.
-MORE SOUNDS! Yes I know Mythic added some but an ambient sound every few doesn't cut it... more battle sounds effects would rock imho and some have said so previously.
-"4) More armour/shield types (someone already said that but i like it )", yeah I mentioned that and gave ideas too, this would be superb. More unique characters make an enormous difference. Now it is basically playing around with dyes or making a completely whacky char spec-wise (usually a gimp) so a class has some unusual type of weapon spec (=more unique). This is idea is one of the best around imho.

One I would love is that PvP servers have the option of making some races into classes of other realms. It is SIMPLE to do afaik and come to that conclusion when I think about logically... I mean just take the model of another race and give the classes spec possibilities and just MAYBE yo might have to alter some starting stats slightly depending on what class you chose... I mean this would rule.

1. Return Albion Cleric Smite and Mez/Stun line back to original levels.

2. Allow me to shoot in the face in RL everyone that whines about nerfing Clerics more without fear of prosecution :(
