If people dont wanna play on this server then f*ck 'em. Server's been nice the last couple of weeks - plenty of good fun and haven't come across anyone being a ****. Seems everyone's got what they wanted (fg'ers tootled off to the golden lands of Avalon and US, n00bs free to enjoy the game on Excal/Pryd) - why change it?

Excal/Prydwen - The land of the n00bs !

Quite a downfall from two of the worlds best RVRservers I think ;-)

They screwed up alot of it by introducing the battle grounds, its simply diluted the players in the frontiers even more.

Used to be a good laugh dashing to a relic defense at level 24 or dancing with a grey con you've caught in the frontier and helping it kill mobs.

Gonna get a kicking from some of my mates for this but i agree with Kag , well not so much the BG's, but Thid.. Altho its not as busy as it used to be, sometimes u still get up to 40 odd peeps in it at one time, thats 40 less in the RvR zones, mind u a lot of Thid players now only have exclusive thid toons because real RvR is so unbalanced in some cases...

Personally i dont know if i can ever be assed to get a 50 again and try to compete, i dont think Daoc will die for a year or two yet , but its certainly not looking healthy , and to put the effort in to try to compete again .. (and delete the 50 cos u know i will )..

In my opinion you (and some others saying about the same thing, kagot and co) are extremly shortsighted.

It might be that Albion as a realm is still floreshing, but the effects of this on Hib and Mid are just starting to show. Its becomming almost impossible getting any raids off the ground. Even though the rvr might still be doable by those who zerg/solo, but the effects of the non existing PvE is soon gonna reare its ugly face in RvR too!:/ Come back and say the same thing in 3-4 months and well see where we are.

one : its the same company - EA Mythic
two : goa have the licence to mod the european severs, and afaik they have this contract for warhammer aswell

I have to be honest, from my point of view frinding the server pretty boring atm. A few groups coming along which have potential. FG fights are few and far between. It tends to be a pleasant surprise when we find FG, with half the group afk/reading forums ....

And Albion the most popular realm, tends to find a keep sit in it and wait. Maybe leave and take a tower, but thats as adventuoris as it gets. I know I know, their keep seige abilities are very strong.

So really I don't imagine anyone having gone to Avalon and put up with adjusting to German would be insane enough to return, unless the group fails to gell.

Well the one advantage is its not overly taxing leveling Szwokkie and Xenxi to replace Buena ... Just so god dam quiet.

You base this on the assumption that it's terminal decline. There is a scenario where people who are logging on less and less actually start to enjoy the game again now that the atmosphere is a whole lot nicer, and start to play more. Of course it may not happen but frankly I don't give a f*ck either way. After all it's just a game and if the excal/pryd servers close down so be it - all I know is that right now it's very pleasant, something it hasn't been for a long time and that really is all that matters.

Not sure your view is the same as everyone else's. We still get the same threads moaning about zerging stealthers, adding, duo's or someone doing something someone else does not like etc etc. No AC raids to worry about though as albs own hib relics and hibs are not going to be getting them back. Makes me wonder where the competition is unless you are a stealther.

If you are enjoying it and don't give a f*ck either way, then all well and good. I am sure those who AC'd the hib relics had a real laugh. Just a shame they did not appreciate the wider perspective.

I can't understand why some people want "spanniards to go to their server" just to come back and play. What the hell?

Can't you play with us around? Are we some kind of odd sickness or is it just that you are a damn nazi? I'm really worried about those buttheads that speak because they got a mouth and not an ass instead.

Actually, spanish server's population is too low and I would sincerly love it if they decide to come back to the cluster and bring some life with em. You may like it, you might not, but a lot of spanish blokes (including myself) have been playing DAoC since it's release.

So please, if you need to post to answer the only question that has been made, do it. But answer anything logical and not a bunch of nonsense words, it get's me on my nerves.

why not cluster the remaining UK / EU servers with the Spannish and Italian player bases.

I understand that you cant have multiple language scripts for the different server types, so you couldnt have an english zone a german zone etc etc. Because the clients are actually different in some subtle way.

To fix the UK population would have to be up to mythic they would have to probbly boot all the UK/EU players from their own servers and send them back to goa.

I have returned and although the server is what i would class as quieter its no way near dead. I do beleive that some certain individuals now they have left (if not the forums) have made the server more fun. Although the whole "dont add omg zerg blah blah blah "crap that constantly plagues the game seems to be one thing that puts people off.

Also GOA needs to do an aggresive advertisment campaign in the UK / EU. Specifically Free accounts on magazines, not just for a month but every month for 12 months. Include incentives for players from other games to play dark age. IE Play warcraft here have a bonus to exp. Play swg here have a bonus to loot.

If i was told over msn that next week we were going to be getting loads of active new players then i would go stand in magmel/mularn/cotswold and help out new players.

The problem being is that when new players do join the game they are met with effectivly a dead starting zone. I dont think /level 20 did the servers any good. However i would say that the shops such as game/gamestation need to have at least 5 copies of the game on the shelf and not just some OLD toa box sets or darkness rising on its own. It needs to be somthing that reaches out to the players and go. Play me.

DAOC rvr is the best ive played and i can say ive been around a few games for the passed 6 months.

CIty of villains gets boring very quickly, eve dull as dishwater, swg broken and boring, wow, oo nice graphics 0 content. The games on the market cant compare to dark age of camelots RvR>

Also people need to stop being leetists no more "oo we arnt having you in our group because your not rr13 and ml10 and templated". BG's need insentive even if its an increased XP bonus to both RP's and PVE so peeps go there.

I may sugest some of these to the GM's but i dont think there is much you can do. As for clustering it with a german server. NO i dont think so, goa would loose the remaining UK players from their servers. and OK we arnt a massive population we still pay our subs we still enjoy the game.

Its a shame but then again a lot of folks went to the US servers after glast self destructed. Its a shame i enjoyed glast and its high population it made it feel like a game again

Either way freddys house doesnt do much to assist in getting new players into the game, we generally snipe at each other and complain and whine and bitch and proclaim this that and the other. Maybe we should just start playing the game again instead of living it .
