Not for them making things awkward, but for changing nature in a non evolutionary way (i.e going against everything nature has set up for - instead of using what nature has given us and working with and around it).

You seem to think there is a 'written' blueprint for how evolution will go. This is bollocks, events, competition and environment drive evolution. If there is an evolutionary advantage to being vegetarian, we will all become vegetarian. Equally if there is a evolutionary disadvantage to being vegetarian, then we will die out of the gene pool ... therefore no reason to get all het up about veggies from your point of view. 'Nature' will take care of us!
