Went to see a local band called In Oceans last night, their last before they broke up. Such a shame, considering they've only ever released 2 EP's I'd consider them one of the freshest bands around at the moment.

Thalberg's Fantasy on Moses

Thalberg was possibly the greatest virtuoso pianist in his time (19th century). Even better than Liszt! (Thalberg was so awesome, the audience gave him standing ovations for 20 minutes).

Thalberg pretty much invented a new type of piano music technique called 3-hand piano. The melody was played by the thumbs of the left and right hand; the left hand was accompanying, and the right hand was performing virtuoso arpeggios.

I saw Halestorm & Shinedown when I went to see Alter Bridge a week or so ago..

Halestorm were good as a support band, came on, did their shit, and left, good band.

Shinedown though, did their thing, and started doing a speech about the soul of rock and roll and did other silly talky bits, unless you're Freddie Mercury or someone of a similar caliber, it doesn't really work, tbh.
