maybe i should post Troll warriors are crap, discuss. I have 300 less Hps than a dorf and only 200 more than a capped thane.
if u rolling a waaaaarior dont pick troll its a waste of space

Well im not sure about that my damage is more. If I understand it rightly STR affect weapon skill. As there is a hardcap of 300 for it, anything over 300 is technicaly a wasted buff. I can get 340 str when fully buffed up by a real Aug spec shammy, so i think i just waste that 40 extra points.

Dwarf i think is the best. STR is gonna cap out just about 300 ish with uber buffs, and dex wil be comparible to a trolls, slightly higher infact.

Now i walk about merily with 220 Str unbuffed/capped so then i suppose in a duel type "bump into another slow arse tank armsman" i may hit a tad harder, but im quessing he/she will have better dex/blocking rate and just 1 block of a style will instantly off set my extra str advantage.

Still all that aside, its just a game and i really need to do my xmas shopping before wednesday

(I talk buffed here because combined with the ammount of buff bots arround now its usually easy to scrape up a few buffs)


ps: i have the right equipment for my class, infact i now have +11 stealth and Runecarving!

Warriors can be fun. The only problem they have in RvR at the moment is this stupid + to hit bonus. It totally negates 1800 or so spec points in Parry/ Shield.

I don't mind dying. I don't care that I'm not uber and win every fight, but I do want to play the character the way I thought I would do... as a defensive character. In 1fg Vs 1fg it's very very hard to block or parry even once due to this stupif + to hit modifier taking my defensive capability down to zero. People may say that's how it should be, but Mythic themselves have tried to "fix" this problem in most of the last few patches, and claim to have done so in 1.54, although extensive tests show that the problem is still there 100%.

They are a fun class to go 1 vs 1 with an even con player though. I may not win everytime, but I love seeing my warrior doing what he's suppossed to do best and defending himself. I may not do the greatest damage, but with Block and Parry kicking in when it works, I can slowly chop alot of people down.

My spec:

54 shield (+12 so normally 42)
53 Hammer (+7 so normally 46) (47 with my crafted beauty hammers )
55 Parry (+11 so normally 44)

I think it's a well rounded spec, and although some criticise it for not going 50 shield/ weapon or 50 weapon, I'd say the extra damage from the other 4 amounts of spec points I could have put in weapon for 50 are much better spent in getting my defensive capabilities up. A warrior isn't mean to deal massive damage, it's meant to be a brick shithouse that can absorb/ stop damage.

They are far from gimped. Hopefully Mythic will eventually sort out the +to hit modifier and maybe give us something class defining (just something a little more fun than generic slam :/)

I may be biased, but I personally think kobolds make the best warriors. Warriors are defensive beasts, and kobs make for the best defensive characters.

At level 48 soloing in spind with a 50 aug shaman I was hitting 304 strength, which is capped.

afaik, that means that, when buffed, a troll is obsolete compared to a kobold, as they both cap strength, have near the same HP, but kobolds come closer to capping dex, and have higher quick.

I'm in the process of moving IRL and so my 48.9 kob hasn't made it to 50 yet, but the RvR I have done leads me to believe it won't be all too bad.

It is rather disheartening to have 8 people people in a group effectively wipe out your defensive skills though. In a duel or in small RvR warriors shine however, and are certainly not gimps in any other respect than 'TeH ZeRg' ©

Just watch out for the casters Just hit lvl 35 with my kobbie warrior and are soloing high oranges low reds without problem if the dont yell for help. And my masterpiece axe dont have anything to do with it

I've had a warrior for an incredibly long time now. Only reason not leveled beyond 20s is because I made a decision when SMs got kicked in the nuts (1.50), that I was going to focus on shammy and by the time we got 1.52 it was so far along I stuck with it to 50, but I've always had a hankering to get back to Grun especially after seeing warriors like Borgdur and Buorhat in action.

In PvE mobs don't even get close to me with Borg around and in RvR if a warrior is close by I feel soooooo warm and fuzzy. Mellin stuck on me = happy Roo and lots of frustrated would-be gankers.

It might be selfish, but warriors are the first char I look for in a group. A good one isn't looking to kill everything in sight, but only enemies with you in their sights.

haveing read some of this i find myself wanting to try one alteast in the BG's so can anyone/everyone recomend a race and a starting spec i like the idea of a kobbie warrior but i want other opinoins plz
