That is a load of crap and you know it. Protests often turn violent, have done throughout history.

That doesn't invalidate them as a protest.

When they turn violent, they stop being protests and start being riots and when they involve weapons/explosives/etc, they go higher up the ladder than that.

The people outside chanting about shit were protesting, the people who stormed the government building, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage and scaring the shit out of its occupants most definitely were not. They were flying the flags of every right-wing hate group around ffs (all under Trump's banner, as if he gives a fuck), they didn't turn up to have a sing-song.
