This is about the reversal of decades old food advice that has, through complex mechanisms, ended up with legions of overweight and obese children. The fat kids in your class (which is half of them according to the stats) will ultimately be affected by this. It's a good thing.

Whether we're capable of reversing the industries that have been built up around the old advice, is another thing entirely. I suspect we won't be able to prize the monster from people's cold dead hands. (Or whatever it is the kids are drinking today).

But that's on them. This "good food definition" is a really important piece of governmental work. It forms the educational basis for kids, it forms what government departments are allowed to advocate for. It gives a weapon to people who want better for the public.
