The fact that you're unaware of these incidents says more about the feedback bubble your own personal Overton Window is moving you into. Here's some you might have missed since 2020:

- Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, was attacked with a hammer in 2022 by a man who broke into their San Francisco home, reportedly seeking to harm the then–House Speaker.
- Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (Michigan) was the target of a kidnapping plot in 2020 by militia members angry over COVID restrictions.
- Gov. Josh Shapiro (Pennsylvania) had a fire set at his home while he and his family were inside.
- Rep. Melissa Hortman (Minnesota) and her husband were shot and killed in 2025 by a man impersonating a police officer.
- Sen. John Hoffman (Minnesota) and his wife were also shot in the same incident and hospitalized with serious injuries.
- Sen. Jon Tester (Montana) received dozens of violent threats from a man who was later arrested and found with a large cache of weapons.

On the flip side, Trump (although his *ahem* "attacker" wasn't "leftist"), Steve Scalise, and now Kirk.
