Russians do "Great Patriotic War" celebrations every 20 minutes and they never invite anyone from the west. They barely acknowledge it was a world war at all

Because it was about D Day. The USSR wasn't involved. Amazing that a few rants by Russian media makes this suddenly a thing.

Anyway without Stalin and Hitler making the Molotov / Von Ribbentrop pact to carve up Europe between them D Day might not have even been needed.

Stalin violated the pact first but Hitler waited until he thought the time was right to hit back (namely when Stalin was busy executing his own generals).

Also the Soviet forces wouldn't have had a chance to soften up the Wermacht if the western allies hadn't been bombing the fuck out of German industry and providing aid to the USSR.

Putin's/Stalin's version of WW2 history tends to forget just how many Soviet casualties were self-inflicted.
