He is not top 4 good though and if that's where Villa want to be they should be looking at better than him?

Seems like Villa are just trying to sign the whole England B team :) Try some French kids cheaper and might even be better.

You want Bentley? they guy who is 3rd choice at one of your rivals way to think big ;)

Bentley was full of himself after his "dream move" back to Laaandan. Get him away from the bright lights under a manager who likes him, and being coached by John Robertson, he will be back to his best.

tbh at blackburn he was 1st choice for england for a while and would have walked into most teams including liverpool and arsenal, but he;s had a shit year, doesnt make him a shit player

No he had a good year at Blackburn and returned to form when it got difficult at spurs (before H R took over), He would not walk into the Arsenal team and i very much doubt Rafa would pick his lazy arse over Kuyt.

on his current form ofc he wouldn't

but when he joined spurs liverpool and arsenal both put bids in for him but clsoer to 10 mill not the 15 spurs were willing to pay

None of the official stuff i read said we put a bid in nor could i see why we would Wenger had big plans for Theo and purchased Nasri i never heard anything saying we were seriously Interested. At Blackburn he was a good player in a poor team but that is his level mid table. No one will ever change my view on that if he was as good as you think HR would have played him instead of Lennon. IMO anyway.

I remember most of the sky sports and beeb press at the team saying Arse and Pool had put offers in, but that Blackburn had rejected them. Trust their sources, as they don't generally make stories up for the sake of it.

I think he is capable of being a top four player, but Spurs had no need for another midfielder, and he was not going to get a look in on the right with lennon's pace. He needs a season at a club pushing for Europe or in Europe. Everton or Villa should suit him well, and O'Neil or Moyes should be able to get the best out of him.

Well you won't hear it because those fans won't be able to afford to get into the finals, only FIFA's elite clubs.

Think it's nice to hear some positive passion from fans personally, better than rude chants.

Spain looked very controlled against a poor Kiwi team. They will not have a test until the knockouts when they come up against a full strength Brazil, Italy or USA.

Yeah the fans did look like they were enjoying it, good to see them dancing around. But it sounded like a hoard of giant mosquitos were hovering just off camera and it was a fucking pain.

Your teams obviously don't have to play European away ties in Eastern Europe a lot. Scottish teams are forever being sent there (and the national team) and it is all you can ever hear - I always fear the worst when I hear them now :(

You are over stating the kiwi's performance against Italy -Italy played a experimental youth team in that game. They scored and threatened from set-pieces, something they did not have many of against spain. If you watched the game you would realise NZ did nothing good, Spain were not tested at all.

Barcelona are in talks with Valencia over the transfer of Spain striker David Villa.
"There are many players who are interested in coming to play at Barcelona and I think that people have to know this," Barca vice-president Rafael Yuste told Radio Catalunya. "The talks (over Villa) are absolutely open." (Press Association, 2235 BST

Sounds like Barca trying to turn Villa's mind at the last minute, but I don't think anyone doubts he is headed to Madrid now do they??

From what our chief spanish scout said when we tried to contact them about him, it sounded like negotiations with madrid were almost done, i'd expect to see him signed in a few days.

Reckon there is anything to the Ibrah-Barce rumours? They'd have a sick team on PES10 :p

Think Jose would do well to cash in on him, and get a striker that will actually score for him in Europe :)

Nah, Jose is a good motivator (unless your name is Scheva). He knows Inter do not have the budget of English or Spanish clubs, so he has to make do with what he has, without letting them know they are not sub-standard.

England U21 kicks off at 5pm on Sky Sports 2 apparently. I got in a bit early at work so I could catch the second half at least. Hopefully Gabby, Milner and Gardner will get a game.

The loss of Taylor is going to hurt, do not fancy our back line without him.
