ok my "most people were still getting 50's" was a bit dodgy i was just had my main points in my head when i posted it. but there were people dinging 50 for the 1st time.

What i ment was:

At the time the majority had no idea what they needed to be sucessfull in the fronteers lots were just rvring because thts just what you did when you hit 50! so they went to te pk, grouped whoever they could see was lfg and went out an got farmed. Alb had about 5 active sorcs so most groups had 1 cleric (if that) and no sorc and often no speed. They were often unbuffed as well. Thats the situation i found myself in when i 1st got lv 50 and started rvr'n. Ppl running about in epic with 4 pallys on a group and wondering why they were getting farmed.

There is nowhere near the pool of disorientated toons just running about hoping to get off rr2.

Take a look at some of the old rvr vids that everlast video where they are farming near amg (cant remember the name ><) is a good example i saw that situation so often then, and now hardly at all.

There were a select few groups...mostly those mentioned who were a stage ahead at that time and, as i said, only realy had compotition from each other. The rest of the time they were farming very clueless people and making a ton of rp's.

When i started to not go out unless i was in something that would stand a chance on my merc (and i joined avalanche....what a mistake that was >< ) midget maffia had already broken up! any the other groups out had the edge over us in that they were all a few realm ranks higher than us....and because there were some god awfull players in avalanche :z

That still happens.

I mean there could be groups out there now who didn't rvr back then killing groups that have no ML's or low levels of them and no ToA sc, so it makes no sense commenting about that surely

In the SI era the reason why the guilds got more rps wasn't because of the worse groups like you say(i think) it was because prydwen was A LOT more rvr active in that time.

rvr is not what it once was, theres maybe 1 or 2 balanced grps running most nights, and most of these are no longer set groups, as for people running unbalanced etc, this still happens proportionally the same amount, just theres less grps overall so it seems that people know what they are doing more as there are less random grps, when really its just theres less grps in general

Regarding RVR now vs then.

Tbh, RVR on Pryd was on its peak just before TOA, there was a couple really good groups out fighting like crazy and it was also damn fun, and most of all, very very even (which is when RVR is at its best). After that stuff just went dooooownhill, RVRwise overall and also qualitywise. When we stopped running there was our grp active, Mael, BO, BaF and a couple other midgroups running about, PE was rarely seen then. 80 Mids in Emain and 2-5 midgroups running all the way from Ailinne to bolg/Emainborder, some stealthers and some poor albs gettin slaughtered in Emain as soon as they set foot outside APK. Thats when most in our castergroup stopped playing since it was shite and nothing but shite and some of us moved US simply for more action overall. (latest patches and ingame CSR etc is v nice and came as a pure bonus tbh).
