So, this is the first attack against england of the "muslims/terrorist/alquaida/whatever".

The english on the otherhand came to the arabworld thousand years ago. Since then they have murdered and massacerd with every weapon you can think of, from sword to bombers. And still they have kill arabs in the arabworld and the excuses used have been as many as tiresome. You have to rub your eyes to belive that they have stomach to be in iraq AGAIN! The arabs can probably hardly belive it, "whats up with these guys? can we get rid of them from our country or not?"

Today, after about thousand years they retalliate for the first time and what happens. A few hundred dead?

To me it looks like the arabs has been quite good at holding it back with revenge towards UK. So excuse me if i dont think it strange that they deliver some payback.

was shortly after danes killed and raped thier way around the UK coast, but nm, maybe we can justify dropping a bomb on you?

and those romans!!! they must pay!

grow up mong

thats why they had to call for help in iraq?

Tell me how they called for help? Who made the initial assualt? US paras. Who made the first assualt on the republican guard? US marines. Who took Basra? UK armed forces. Who took baghdad? US armed forces. So tell me how the UK and US called for help?

To be fair, what Lethul was saying came across as pro-terrorist simply because he was saying that Britain deserved to be bombed, that isnt simply "not being with us."
dont see him supporting, he said they had it comming - i agree to some extend, they couldn't count on being left alone after attacking and joining up with US - but i certainly do not agree with terror (tho its subjective that's terror - freedom fighting is terror, but no one consider it terror do they?)

Firstly, I dont see how setting up democracy in one country means you have to bomb others - but regardless Iraq will form some kind of democracy which will allow the people to have their say. I just think its funny that people who say 'the war was wrong' and all the rest of it are expressing the exact right that the Iraqi people didnt have....

I was pointing out that if the sole purpose of the war in iraq, was to give em democracy and get rid of a bad leader, they should do it to several other countries?, why Iraq?

Well, my idea of democracy is not to have some foreign countries invade another country, ban a political party becuz they dont want democracy and then have an election with political parties that want democracy. They shoulda let every single political party have their say, no matter how fucked it was. If the ppl rly want democracy, they wouldn't even vote for the anti-democratic party. What Iraq got now, is far from a democracy imho. Its like saying Russia was a democratic country back in the days, they had elections and all.. but if you voted for the "wrong" party, u would be hunted down.

Yes, of course, Africa's solution rests in trade (well as far as 'we' can tell) but i think cancelling Africa's debt and doubling aid will help, at least to some extent.

Yeh some help is always good, and its great that they take the initiative to actually try and do something, but as i have already mentioned: Africa needs a foundation before it will be enough. such as what you mentioned, through trade.

Dont u kinda think they were justified after Iraq had slaughtered the non-saddam camp and invaded a neighbouring country ?

Well regardless of specifics what Lethul said was not only disrespectful to those caught up in the issue but also to any Brits. And, yes, Britain was always a target.

Are you making this up as you go along? First air assualts were launched by the US. Iraq retaliated by bombing Saudia Arabia. US send forces to Saudi to help them. When the ground invasion took place, there were many countries involved. This does not constitute the US "asking for help". Desert storm, unlike the 2nd iraq war was fully supported, with many countries involved.

nope, i dont think its justified... i dont think you can justify anything like it, you're mixing the 2 wars up that way (by saying the attack was justified because they attacked kuwait, which they did over 10 years ago ;o)

I did mention that some may argue the reason Britain and the US went into Iraq wasnt for democracy but what i was trying to say was that they will have it whatever the reasons. Also, i'd imagine they banned an anti-democratic party because it's stupid to go into a country to achieve some kind of democracy to just let the extremists in a country get it back to how it was. Finally, I assume that Iraq was picked because Saddam Hussein was the most 'famous' and so 'sorting out' Iraq would be an example to the other tyrants.

Dunno if it has happened but take the political debate to the off-topic or the main general forum please but my view is this, I support the United Kingdom of Great Britain in every way, if we go to war to take out a dictatorship, so be it. Terrorists can fuckoff. I just wish our government would hop on over to Zimbabwe and kill that shithead to show the Africans that we will NOT tolerate wankers like him.

Anyway,

I flew from Stockholm to Heathrow today and was deeply saddened by today's events.

Have loads of friends that work at LIverpool st and Aldgate. Thankfully after many frantic hours of trying to call I got thru and found that they are alright.

You do know that anyone that said Saddam shouldn't be president was beheaded and their head put on a spike in the town centre for all to see don't you?

And you do know that any political parties that tried to stand up against Saddam were killed by his special guard...

Why help people and then allow them to be condemed to the same fate by allowing another dictator in?

This of course was all while he was having fun killing 5000 innocent people with some of the worst biological weapons available to humans then putting all the corpses in a mass grave.

Your ability to view your thoughts here is something the Iraqies didn't have under Saddam. When you go buy a can of pop from the shop, thats freedom, when you watched TV then changed station, that is freedom. Being killed because you don't like your president isn't freedom.

Be grateful

Its amazing how people like Lethul and Huntington's views would change if it was Londons forensic detectives scraping their relative's up with shovels. They would cry to the high heavens.

I have friends in London and as soon as i heard i felt very very sad inside.

Judging from what my mate told me when he got back from iraq, pretty fucking ecstatic at being rid of that tyrant. He was treated like a god, they couldnt do enough for him. Even one family who had lost a daughter showered him with gifts.

Or how about the thousands of iraq's pulling down the statue of saddam and beating it with their shoes.

The coalition NEVER set out to kill innocents and alot was spent on <smart> bombs and the like to cut down on casualties , the terrorists today went out of their way to kill people like u and me with no warning and no remorse . Im not just beating out popular opinion and phrases that are seen as the norm from a capitalist country .... im talking sense , i wish i was liberated like u and brave enough to talk utter bollocks in the name statistics

Hmm can't remember bombing Morocco or many of the other African or middle-east countries, it isn't Iraqui's mainly doing this, its people from all over africa and the middle east, so the fact we freed the Iraqui's from another decade of poverty and innocent killings for doing anything Saddam didn;t like doesn't hold. That isn't why this is happening, we weren't in Iraq in 911.

Im trying to post very carefully here ..its a fragile thread ..and we are on an english forum -

Im trying to make up my mind here -- this could get very political and dangerous very fast but Im Irish ...and although the thought of innocent loss of life grieves me - Im finding it very hard to drag myself from the thoughts of how England as a country doesnt deserve the RETALIATION OF A PEOPLE for what they have in the past and even in the present for what they have put people thru .

I lost many - and I mean Many Irish relatives to the english that all stemed from England sticking their nose in other peoples business ..grandfather / great grand father -

The last time the english football supporters cause fights in our stadiums - one of my friends was left paralized while the other blind in one eye -

Im sorry to all the famlies and to my friends on FH who are prolly offended by what Im saying ..Im trying hard to feel to for you but its hard to forgive and its hard to forget -

I wish I could explain it more - normally I dont mind flame wars because its immature and tbh Im good at it ..but this is emotional for a large amount of people regardless what their opinions are and I hope that will be respected . :(
