But the Met has shown time and again that they're above what's considered acceptable in every public sector, maybe in actual fact it's due to underfunding that they're facing scandals.

The creation of the police force and the original aims were not uncontroversial at the time and hugely resisted by the population (who knew quite well how to deal with and integrate with low level criminals in their communities - they knew that bad people would have to live alongside them).

We live in a much more disconnected world now and we cant go back. But there's one pattern that fits police forces in the UK (and around the world) and that's of a deeply criminal and abusive culture. Policing needs deep and full root-and-branch reform (along with our whole criminal justice system) based on evidence and outcome.

but when previously like @Job has said its cold and rainy today so much for global warming. You said thats weather not the climate.

whats the difference between the current weather in america and it being a sign of climate change. But the wet weather today in the uk is just weather.

waiting for the facepalm instead of explaining the difference.

Climate is regional/global over a period of time, weather is localised and immediate. So we see both average temperatures rise globally and also freak weather, such as the current heatwave in parts of the US and Canada or extreme cold, flooding, though that is mostly due to fuckwits building on floodplains and an environment agency that might as well just be wound up for all the use it is.

I thought you didn't give a monkeys about the fate of the planet? Is the threat of you being forced to do something (or forced to stop doing something) scaring you?

Don't worry. We don't make it m8. And that's because the world has too many people like you in it - people who want to pay a bit of lip service to change, but not actually do owt. Add that to the well funded vested interests working against the environment then you can be pretty sure that, if not climate change, we'll do something that wipes us out.

1) Posts an article about a record heat event covering the whole of the north american continent that scientists say would be impossible without global warming
