Im truly not concerned about "reimagining capitalism', but every attempt so far in the western world has been such a shitshow of idiocy and incompetence that it concerns me that even a effort by someone who could do it would just end up being sucked in to smash brothers kickoff involving every fringe group with two members and spokesperson.

The quickly buried by the press attempt to take over some city blocks in.. Portland I think, showed that wideyed innocence is quickly sat on by the local warlord, it isnt going to be easy to actually pull it off without shutting down all debate and protest and paying off organised crime.
Capitalism gives so much more than it takes away, you are only here because all your ancestors beat or ate the competition.

OK - I'll engage, genuinely.

Can you give any examples of when there were attempts to change capitalism at the systemic level? (For this is what stakeholder capitalism is). You've said "every attempt so far..." is a shitshow - so it should be trivial for you to give us a few examples.

This isn't a trick question @Job. I'm not aware of any recent events to fundamentally change capitalism. So you'd be educating me for once.

This isn't anything to do with capitalism. This is just local people doing local stuff. On a city block level even.

Capitalism gives so much more than it takes away, you are only here because all your ancestors beat or ate the competition.
Again, the ancestors bit isn't anything to do with capitalism. Nothing to do with it. I'd agree that capitalism has certainly given us a lot, but it's not without cost, and has been reformed in the past at a systemic level. But capitalism is not a fundamental force of nature and cannot be equated to darwinian evolution.

I really would like you to give the examples asked for. I'm open to having my ideas challenged. However, I suspect, given the subsequent two paragraphs, that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what capitalism actually is (and, given past experience, you'll not be open to expanding your knowledge about it).

However, I live in hope (which is why, other Freddies, I keep trying with Job.). Maybe I 'just don't get it'.

I doubt it. But if you can bring proper examples to the party then I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong.

N00B question
How do you stop Firefox in Windows from opening up a homepage tab everytime I open the browser
I just want it to open up exactly as I left it in the previous session. No new tabs.

I have the 'new tab home page' extension which makes any new tab that open go to my homepage. I need that.

Another question please
Is there a way to get dark mode for the tabs and address bar in Windows 10 Chrome ?
I found a flag to get my homepage black, but would like the tabs and address bar dark mode too.

I do. Then I had lag on FoE and someone suggested Firefox. Thing I like about Firefox are the dark address bar and tabs. Can't seem to get dark tabs in Windows 10 Chrome

Go to preferences ("about: preferences" in the address bar, without the space) and tick "Restore previous session" in the Startup section at the top of the General tab.

Access Denied

It was like that when I got here...

Right-click on desktop, go to personalise, colours and set "Choose your colour" to dark. Should apply it to all windows, including Chrome. At least it does for me.

Wowzers - this is a genuine biggie.

So, the hunt saboteurs bunch of hippies have recorded a webinar run by The Hunting Office - the executive arm of the governing groups of UK hound hunting organisations.

The whole webinar is about how to organise your illegal hunting activities in a way that hides your illegal activity from people who would record them, and how to act and cast doubt on evidence when you're caught out so if it does make it to court (a failure in itself) the chances of a succesful conviction are lower.

It's a "caught red handed breaking the law" video. According to the (shockingly contrite, almost like they don't want to report on it) reporting from the BBC the police are looking into it.

But get this (@Gwadien, @Moriath) - Phil Davies - the retired chief inspector Dyfed Powys police has a spot on how to deal with the police when they get pulled up! (Video at 5:55 - and 8:25 if you want to watch a former senior police officer tell hunt people how to take video evidence selectively)

I'm immediately concerned that the Beeb has sold this as a Lake District thing - Blencathra Foxhounds are under investigation. But The Hunting Office is the executive group for all hound hunting groups countrywide. They're the top of the tree. They're the governing body for the governing bodies:

The Hunting Office said:
Established in 2005, The Hunting Office is the central organisation which is delegated to run the administrative, advisory and supervisory functions of the Hunting Associations, which are the governing bodies. The Hunting Office’s purpose is to set and maintain high standards of conduct in the activity of hunting with hounds.

The Hunting Office is responsible for the administration of hunting across the UK and aims to promote and protect the interests of hunting and the hunting community. The office co-ordinates the insurance policies, the members handbooks, the Stud Books, liaises with various other organisations to promote the interests of hunting and provides support and advice for Hunts, Hunt Officials and Hunt Staff

so this smacks of one branch of the hunting org being prepped to be thrown under the bus to protect all of the others.

As we've known all along. Hunting has only ever been banned in lip-service only. This is a major victory for the crusties.

Now watch them be roundly ignored.

But wow. Talk about being caught red handed.

Edit: From 8:50 @Bodhi - if you want to hear a toff have a go at Jimmy Krankie for stopping them getting the law changed in their favour ;)

Oh, and another senior copper at the end from Avon and Somerset telling people how to hide evidence from the police.

Fucking lovely people coppers. Lovely. I'd absolutely trust them with this "investigation".

A bit of digging shows me this is being a little more widely reported on. Labour have pushed to have laws strengthened, but the Tories predictably have dismissed the suggestion.

Still, it shows the majority of hunts are nothing more than well organised criminal gangs. And that direct action is an effective tool :)

I think its likely down to the fact people have had enough of current affairs (which is basically just Coronavirus and Brexit atm) so don't want to watch even more.

Also the fact you don't really get answers.

I think the one you want is: Options -> General -> Restore Previous Session

Had steak & chips tonight
The steak was amazing. Pan fried, with black peppercorns and coarse sea salt, it came out soft, nice and pink, and unbelievably juicy
Steak was from Tesco
I reckon it tasted better than the vast majority of steaks I've had in restaurants

We went to Smiths of Smithfield Market a good few years ago (a steak joint that's in the middle of a meat market) and the steak was terrible!
Home cooked wins every time.

Scrooged.
