So a mate of mine drives HGVs, posted this of an old HGV vs a modern HGV.





Is it me, or does the older wagon have clearly a far superior vantage point for spotting traffic around you?

I realise on the old truck you're still sat pretty far back but the profile of the cabin looks about perfect for me, you're still high up to see the road but a much wider viewpoint.

The mirror setup on the new one is far superior though. You can sit there and see probably (guessing) 300 degrees around you with a couple of glances and you even get the look-down mirrors to see down in front and on the far side.

Don't be fooled by the older lorry, it is missing quite a few advances in modern lorries and the rules around driving.
