It's not about imbibing. For me it's about the potential for knock-on ecological effects and the pace of change.I’m not worried. People have been eating GM for decades now. There’s no scientific reason to think it should be any different.
At every turn we've discovered that the smallest changes can have profound consequences. At a time where we're barely at the beginning of our understanding of interconnected webs - actual understanding ecology - it seems unwise to be anything other than incredibly cautious.
Not saying never. But the urgency isn't there - we've solutions to our problems that don't require such potentially risky maneuvers.
