I feel like this kind of stuff is inevitable in the West.

I feel like it's another scape goat to have a whinge at the EU.

Absolutely not. The internet has exploded with rage AT the EU Parliament for passing Article 13. From all parts of the EU not just the UK. Some are calling for their own version of Brexit. Many are saying they will look up how their MEP voted and in the May elections will vote for someone else to try and get them unelected.

The car issue is not quite as mainstream as the above is trending everywhere! They really shot themselves in the foot and the only hope they have is if the EC cancel it before the May elections otherwise they too will face the wrath of the People voting.

Yeah, I was referring to the car thing, not Article 13.

Article 13 isn't just 'bad', it doesn't make sense and couldn't work.

From what i gather, as it is now, private users are held responsible for what they publish online over different platforms. With these changes, webpages/platforms will instead be held responsible and have to filter out a lot with 'advanced' filter algorithms to avoid expensive copyright-issues. Big media corps wants to change the business-model to their advantage. For example: All our largest Swedish newspaper organizations have lobbied to get this changes through, and haven't published anything on this issue on their platforms at all. Completely quiet.

Surely just another step towards 1984, although I'm not surprised at all about the two showing support for it even with the nanny superstate interference using predicted figures. I mean it isn't as if we've seen any bad predictions lately...oh no.
I think, on a personal level, it's abhorrent tbh. I really don't want it.

But bring on driverless cars - I don't see the point in really fucking everyone off by making them feel like controlled drones (we already are) - but driverless cars, with no steering wheels, a bar, a bed, get in your car with your mates, wake up in scotland after 11 hours being driven there whilst you got drunk and played games.

That's better. :)

As I stated earlier, you've got a longer wait than was originally advertised for driverless cars due to continued technical issues and that is before all the legal issues.

I'd replied before i read that, but yeah, I think so too.

But either way. Bring 'em on. Then we don't have to feel like the mind-controlled drones that we are.

It doesn’t sound so bad here :/

Sounds like it’s intended to stop Google and Facebook profiting from others’ work:

European Parliament approves new copyright rules for the internet | News | European Parliament
Um seriously? I want to record 20 minutes of me playing a game and uploading it to youtube - not allowed
I want to record an hour long video of a gaming guide and upload it to Twitch - not allowed
I want to use snippets of a song to add effect to a video - not allowed

It is a form of censorship at it's most basic forms and lawyers, content creators, hosting providers have all voiced their concerns along with a 5 million online petition and a march in Germany of 200,000 people.

I’m just looking at the bits I read then. Not seen how it could lead to that. Happy to be proved wrong.

That's the problem, it's all so vague and open to interpretation.

That's actually a good thing. Individual EU states will enable it in different ways, but most will take a minimal intervention approach (I bet some countries won't even set infringement penalties for all but extreme cases). The British would always take the most prescriptive approach to enabling EU Directives, because Gold Plating is what the British do, but hey, Brexit, I'm sure you'll be a copyright-free nirvana?

This dude is a right wing youtuber.

He became popular after the Tommy Robinson stuff.

He talks about how Youtube and the internet is evil and censored.

He's gone from 300k subs to nearly 1million.

Super evil to pay for your living.

Going through old bookmarks and clearing out pron.

Milo Manara, French soft porn artist, the artwork is just stunning, the imagination is incredible.
obviously NSFW though the site is safe to visit, no vids or popups.

Because Hentai can include (but not limited to) cartoon child porn.

But it's good to know that you enjoy Hentai, adds more to your character biography.

Children in hentai is far more prevalent, I just checked Pornhub, for research.
They're not supposed to be representations of the age you're on about.

Remember reading a really long thing about it once, and thinking "fair enough, who are we in the west to judge that". With western eyes it looks that way...

The Japanese have clamped down on it big time iirc.

I can honestly say that Hentai is as weird as fuck.and I have no clue why people are into it.
That site is actually full of furryporn and thats just like what?
Its a great site for virus / popup free western high quality artwork over the ages.
There is some western style hentai that lays off the dodgy young girl look and a lot of it could stand up against any artwork anywhere.
Incredible levels of artistic talent.

I played the first one, I remember it not being very open world..
It was 2010. And fun.

Don't really give a shit about "open world" - as "open world" as a selling feature is overrated IMO. Unless the gameplay mechanisms are great then open world can be yawningly dull. Like Fallout - if it was based on the original rage engine, so movement was a pleasure rather than a chore, then I'd probably like Fallout more. :)
