Sounds dull. I don't drink much nowadays but a lot of the enjoyment of getting pissed was the journey from sobriety to being pissed.

Hmm, not sure. I was never one who enjoyed being legless (don't get me wrong, I've been "memory loss until this day" blitzed on more than one occasion), I liked going on the sauce because it made me more outgoing and better at chatting up women (and that's not an in my head assessment, I've had a lot of feedback), but there was a sweet spot of not too pissed. Something like this would have worked for me.

I've heard and seen bits and pieces about it but someone tell me why it matters?

I'm somewhat indifferent on it since I tend to think too often the big companies get to shun their responsibility due to their size, but then I can see it causing massive issues due to its actual complexity.

It's just another corporate-funded (big media) piece of legislation designed to increase their stranglehold on material and the use of material we always would have considered "fair use". - hence the "meme-killer" moniker because companies will be able to sue people for stuff they've never been able to before.

Glad I'm not a content creator, or an ignorant child, as this is going to be a nightmare for them.

Thing is if you read some reddits/twitter feeds there are a lot of pissed off pro-EU citizens thinking Brexit is actually starting to look good. Oh and lots of them are the younger generation. Today really couldn't have come at a better time.

We've been lobbying for it tho.

The EU has caved, yep. But we'd have done it years ago.

It's lose-lose for uk. :(

Trying to decipher who voted UK wise but it seems UKIP was against and some Tory MPs too.

The EU Parliament has just shot itself in the foot, many many people are looking to vote for anti-EU parties at the May election. The internet and the younger generation that uses it are absolutely raging across all platforms. That is a fact. Now, if they all do what they say and vote, well, someone is going to get a fucking big slap to the head.

Control of the internet is all part of globalisation, it's a much bigger thing than the EU and will probably be one of the major turning points against the march of the ludicrous power of global companies like google.
Revolution incoming, I guarantee it.

FFS. Really? Fucking data loggers as well. FUCK OFF.
Bring on driverless cars.

The above will be universally unpopular, but if you sit back and think about it - how can you argue against it, morally :/

Its funny how every time I mentioned the totalitarian population control the EU is after, I was called a tin hatter.
Has anyone verified this, its seems unlikely even for them

It will be possible to override the system by pushing hard on the throttle, however the system will be engaged every time a car is started.

ermm?
ahh
ETSC also states that: ‘If the driver continues to drive above the speed limit for several seconds, the system should sound a warning for a few seconds and display a visual warning until the vehicle is operating at or below the speed limit again.’

I s this an early aprils fool?
Bit click bait tbh, but you know what they want, handy to day, compulsory tomorrow.

I don't really see the problem with this.

'ETSC says the limiters will reduce collisions by 30 per cent and save 25,000 lives within 15 years of being introduced.'

There's speed limits for a reason, you should stick to them.

'The only logical argument to this would be if you needed to accelerate to avoid a collision or something, but 'If you think you can simply keep pressing a little harder on the throttle to break through the system, think again. ETSC also states that: ‘If the driver continues to drive above the speed limit for several seconds, the system should sound a warning for a few seconds and display a visual warning until the vehicle is operating at or below the speed limit again.’'

People will get to A to B quicker, and they won't have to put their foot down :)

I dont really see any problem with this, people are less productive after fifty anyway and they usually end up as a drain on society.
Plus the injection is painless.

Surely just another step towards 1984, although I'm not surprised at all about the two showing support for it even with the nanny superstate interference using predicted figures. I mean it isn't as if we've seen any bad predictions lately...oh no.

I can imagine it once the data loggers are running. Get pulled over the cops, first thing they do is download what you have been up to. Oh you went too fast there so here, have some points.

Your airbags data log for 30 seconds continous, all EU cars have had gps built in for a few years by law and only an idiot would think that Galileo isnt going to be used for its actual main purpose.
Total population control.

Think of the number of 5G receivers they'd need to handle all that data. They'd be practically right next to each other. :\

Technically they would have to alter the law some more I believe, so for example Tachos on lorries can't be used to prosecute you for speeding.

As for those mentioning driver less cars, you are in for a long wait and not just of the legal issues surrounding them but the technical issues.....in essence they've been oversold so far.
