the only reason I can conceive to carry a gun / knife here in the NL would be if I had hunting as a hobby, worked in the animal control dept of the forestry, or alternatively if I was in the police or armed forces, and then only if I was actually practicing my hobby or working / on duty.

It is mandatory for some people with their jobs. one of our trainers used to work on nuclear subs for US Navy. He was required to always carry a side arm due to fears that they could be kidnap targets for enemies of the US with knowledge of top secrete design information etc.

It doesnt work on the native browers of a shed load of Samsungs, like my Notes.
After years of using this browser the ONLY website I have ever encountered where the video doesnt work is twitter.
These are hardly obscure phones, and work perfectly well everywhere else, I have to use chrome to see the video.
Seeing as it fundamently probably one of the most mobile based sites you can think of, to write code that doesnt work on some of the worlds most popular phones is just fucked up.

I always thpught safari was the pickiest browser with no adobe flash support. And well you know the issue and the solution so not really a biggie.

I got a client that doesnt show the replies by default. So i only get them if i really want to rad them. Which 99% of the time i dont. So for me its just who i follow that matters.

Tbh boilers are going down the same complexity for the sake of it route as many other white goods.
When you first install the new worcesters, it goes through a boot sequence and asks you about 10 questions that you cant skip before it will even start up, it actually asks for the installers phone number ffs.
Innocent enoughish, but you know where its heading.
Dont even start me on those ridiculous Hive thermostats, overpriced and quite simply an epic privacy intrusion, it asks you everything about your house, postcode, bedrooms, bathrooms, occupancy levels, times you are usually in and out, knows when you are on holiday...people just fill that shit in and of course it goes off to 'help us improve our product'.

I was in no way supporting the carrying of guns. Personally think its lunacy, let the pros (police etc.) do their job and control guns to general public. Although I get the feeling with most gun crime in US being black on black no one gives a damn.
