That does sound hilarious. However did you manage to contain your laughter for long enough to make that post?

I'm going to see The Terminator soon.

In 1984 he said: "Fuck you, assholes!"

I stand by that tbh.

The Supreme court in action.
They are quite simply a law unto themselves..pun intended.

Yet more interpretations to fit an agenda.

Supreme Court rules parents can't take children on holiday during term time

The Government should target airlines and holiday companies that double prices during the term breaks. Then it would not be an issue. In most cases its blatant profiteering and unnecessarily high. They should legislate on how much the can increase over the standard fare.

Are they doubling costs in the holidays or halving them in term time?

This.

You can't tell companies to change logical business approaches tbh.

Do you want summer priced holidays thoughout the year? because that's the only option.

Supply and demand. So they will charge what they can and still sell the holidays.

If they go too high though then no one will fly

Pricing of flights is already absurdly complex, would be nice to have it simplified

So the government/EU can cap phone company IOT rates but can't enforce fair costs on air tickets? Seems a little strange to me. It would not be that difficult to enforce either. Publish a standard fare, high season fare and any discounted ones would be OK.

Holidays and flights aren't the same thing as phonecalls though. With flights it is strictly supply and demand and travel companies will naturally increase prices as demand increases.

But that is an unfortunate reality of having children, they need to be schooled. Pulling a child out of class for two weeks means that they need to catch up on their return, which means the teacher has to not only teach the class the current work but also help the kid that has been on holiday to catch up.

Had someone on the door claiming to be from some statistical company or whatever, asking if I would be happy for a tracker to fitted to my car for statistical purposes. Yes mate, let me just grab my Star of David.

It would, I keep trying to shave seconds off my commute home, down to 7m 11s from start button pressed to handbrake on, outside the house.

Mobile phone roaming charges cut within EU - BBC News

The controls on charges are being introduced under an EU regulation - not a directive - which means they have not been specifically incorporated into UK law.

Nice one Job, showing your base intelligence again.

The EU made the changes, the phone companies just wanted their selves to look better by saying 'Oh look, we're doing it because we wanted to, not because we were told to!'

Oh,

By free roaming I thought you were on about something that actually mattered like being able to camp wherever you liked, rather than being able to tweet your opinion, wherever you liked.

They are not doing it because they wanted to..its called competition, once one does a deal, they have to follow suit..its the EU who are trying to look like they are in charge.
Oh we issued legislation..it was happening anyway.

Flights and hotels have finite capacity, phone networks do not (for practical purposes anyway); the analogy doesn't work.

Much as I'd like flights and hotels to be cheap all the time, it's not unreasonable that they're not.

Not really up to EU its more of a national issue, also hugely culturally dependant

Finland as an example has the "everymans right" meaning that if land is not used commercially or protected in some way (for some endagered species) then theres free access, this includes anything that grows wild in the forest, this has been abused a little by some suppliers who bring in cheap labour and harvest the wild berries for commercial purposes
