I've noticed the most fervent "English culture" proponents often have the poorest English language skills.

Was wondering if we could have a general spam thread that doesnt have @Scouse @Raven @Gwadien @Job in it . Or at least have a rule they are not allowed to reference each others posts. Gets a bit tedious. ;)

Goes for Sweden as well. They (and i don't know how accurate this term is, since i googled it and had it translated) more than often 'write words in to two words' that really should stand together, and they do it more often than not. Example; Basket ball. God, it makes the hair on my back stand. At least use an - you savages. *Inserts Absolutely Barbaric meme*

Finally a display capable of displaying one of Job's posts without being on a million lines.

Well its disruptive for the class if you have some special snowflake that buggers off on holiday.

If you don't want expensive holidays, don't have kids. The world has more than enough people anyway.

Well obviously if the Supreme court had sided with previous decisions..which it should have...then chaos would have ensued and they simply reworded that into 'the wider picture'.

An utter fucking joke.

Ultimately I'm with the supreme court on this one.

I agree that it seems petty in an isolated case to be penalised for taking a kid out of class for a few days, but that's not the issue. The issue here is that if the supreme court said "nah, it's fine, go ahead" then the flood gates will open and pave the way for every ignorant cunt to take their kid out of school when it suits them.

Where's the cut off point before a class is cancelled? 1 child? 5 children? 50% of the children? and for how long? How does that get policed and controlled, and how is that extra overhead paid for? Fuck that, in today's society the special snowflakes will expect to be able to have them off an extra week and expect the teacher to sort out any kids that have slipped. Teachers have it bad enough already without this shite getting out of the bag just so that Mr and Mrs Cuntface can fly premium economy unlike Mr and Mrs Snowflake who had to slum it on Easyjet.

Lets not forget, they're not being kept out of school because the parents have to work extra to feed the family, it's so they can go on holiday. I fucking hate the human race.

In the NL kids must attend school until they have a diploma (called a starting qualification) or have reached 18. after that, they may attend school. If you take an NL child on holiday outside of school holidays, you're breaking the law and can face a penalty.

Tbh kids have billions of holidays anyway. The only reason I can come up with to take a kid on holiday outside of school holidays (besides snowflake-itus) is costs. Generally holidays go up in price in the prime time, which is a bit naff of the travel biz but hey ho that's market forces for you folks.

The Supreme court in action.
They are quite simply a law unto themselves..pun intended.

Yet more interpretations to fit an agenda.

Supreme Court rules parents can't take children on holiday during term time

There's a line missing from that headline "without prior permission". That's the crux of it. Its entirely possible to take kids out in term time if sufficient arrangements are made, and schools will usually be reasonable about it. He just took his kid out and didn't even tell the school.

And his kids attendance record was shite anyway.

He claimed something like 92% attendance - which is nearly one day in ten off.

School is really important. Otherwise we end up with people who know dick. Like Job.

I think I probably missed no more than a day a year (and even that was rare) during all my school days. Unless there's something wrong with her, 92% is pathetic.

The forum would be such a nicer place if you could do things like leaving the last two words off your post. Was really no call for it.
