My exact point, it was a political and social decision...another example of supreme court 'interpretations' of law that reach the point of making a mockery of its decisions.Ultimately I'm with the supreme court on this one.
I agree that it seems petty in an isolated case to be penalised for taking a kid out of class for a few days, but that's not the issue. The issue here is that if the supreme court said "nah, it's fine, go ahead" then the flood gates will open and pave the way for every ignorant cunt to take their kid out of school when it suits them.
Where's the cut off point before a class is cancelled? 1 child? 5 children? 50% of the children? and for how long? How does that get policed and controlled, and how is that extra overhead paid for? Fuck that, in today's society the special snowflakes will expect to be able to have them off an extra week and expect the teacher to sort out any kids that have slipped. Teachers have it bad enough already without this shite getting out of the bag just so that Mr and Mrs Cuntface can fly premium economy unlike Mr and Mrs Snowflake who had to slum it on Easyjet.
Lets not forget, they're not being kept out of school because the parents have to work extra to feed the family, it's so they can go on holiday. I fucking hate the human race.

This has been standard in Finland for decades, all kids from kindergarten + up get free lunch

Don't buy that tbh. No reason, just don't buy it.
Went to one until I was 12, so no, not really.Yeah because you cringe when you see 'private school'. That is literally the only reason.
Yep.arguably
Yes. It is isn't it.there's 180,000 children in private education, that's another billion quid
Private schools have a tendency to be a barrier to social mobility for the majority, it is instead a "way in" to the club for those that can afford it
Free, high quality education, available to everyone is [*definitely a good and achieveable*] way to drive social mobility
Yep.
Yes. It is isn't it.
The cash is out there m8. Capitalism is *fan-tastic* at making it.

What's your point? That's it's not financially viable, or that it's not realistic? Both are totally achieveable IMO.Alright let's continue to miss the point.
