Duty of care is on the car drivers.
Is this just because it's @Job saying it?

Yes, people were driving too fast for conditions - but people do. The fact of the matter is people were coming up that blind hill and they were getting surprised by the presence of the comcast trucks.

Once the accidents started happening then cones could easily have been put out much further back - but the attitude of the comcast jobsworths is astonishingly bad. The excuse "just following the rules" does not exempt them from their responsibility. If you can see something is unsafe, then you do something about it.

If they're not sacked on the spot for that I'd be amazed.

Edit:
to say they "knew accidents were going to happen" is nonsense.

Bullshit. Once the cars started regularly going off the road then they could see that, regardless of blame, their positioning was helping to cause accidents. This was pointed out to them repeatedly - and they gave no shit.

The guy in the video put out his own cones. He could see the accidents happening, he told them more were going to happen and more happened.

I know @Job has rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way - but this is a very silly sequence of posts.

What a load of BS. I hate Comcast more than any company but this was none of their fault. People were driving too fast for the road conditions. End of story.

You have to adjust your speed to the driving conditions, it doesn't matter if it's a stationary (or slow moving) Comcast truck, school bus, bicycle, or cake-eating competition. Adjust your speed.

No excuse for crashing into something that isn't moving. If its icy, expect to come across an obstacle and drive accordingly.

Yes. We get it. People are dicks.

But people are dicks. That's the point. We know this. The Comcast guys could see that because people were dicks that crashes were happening - avoidable crashes - yet they did nothing about it despite the solution being trivially easy to implement.

That makes them even bigger dicks. And the people here who are all "humans shouldn't act like that" - I agree, they shouldn't - but they fucking do - so stop living in denial and accept fucking reality.

See the world as it actually IS, rather than how you think it should be...

Sometimes we have very interesting debates over subjects which actually have an impact on peoples lives, such as political events or current issues which people have opinions on, which creates some good intelligent debate.

This isn't one of them.

Actually find this stuff more interesting in many ways. It's about the mechanics of humans, their actions and their interactions.

'One billion' affected by Yahoo hack - BBC News

A billion?! Where do they get these numbers from ffs...there are only 7.5 billion people on the planet, I very much doubt even 15% or whatever have a fucking yahoo account, I am amazed they even exist still.

Regardless - bet the cunts are kicking themselves now for turning down $45 billion from Microsoft and for not buying Google for $1 million when they were new. Whoever is in charge of Yahoo is clearly shit at making decisions.

Where can I get a retractable winder that holds a 30m ADSL cable? Can't find one on Amazon. Must be...

Decided to oven clean my dark grey crankset to better match my steel frame (on which almost everything else is shiny aluminium). Drive side tomorrow, then out with the drill polishing kit.

Just finished cooking a curry. Chicken madras. The flavour is amazing. Added some fresh ginger which lifts the entire dish :D

Meh, this year has seen enough death, natural or not its just been a brutal year. A friend I grew up with was tied to a bed and savagely beaten to death on the 16th, they didn't find him until the 18th... shit year.
