Gayest forum in the world alert.![]()
Your whole premise seems to be that there's complete inverse correlation between scale of operation and quality of product. .... Initially I put it down to "acquired taste", then I realised (mainly after going to microbreweries in the States a lot more often), that no, I was right, most of it is rubbish......
Just because a bunch of beardie-weirdies have set up "rules" based on keeping the club exclusive
Who are you, mr gay alerter?
I definitely find a correlation between the scale of operation and quality of product. However, as I've clearly stated - feel free to drink what you want if you like it.
As for lots being rubbish - some is to taste, some isn't to taste. But someone always likes what I hate.
The fact is - real ale ain't your thing. The vast differences in ales mean that you go through a lot of shit that isn't exactly to your taste. Some people don't like that - and fair enough. However, I do - and loads of people like me do - so fair enough too...
Fine. If you don't like the club, don't come in. But don't moan about it either.
Not saying you are - but Brewdog certainly are. Why doesn't Brewdog fuck off and have it's own festivals? I don't see Crabbies complaining about real ale. I don't see Carling or Strongbow or Fosters or Heinekin complaining. - These companies seem content to live and let live - and let people drink what they like.
Brewdog doesn't seem to like that tho. So they can fuck off.
Yes, but the insistence on calling it "real ale" is affectation of the worst kind, since by definition, everything else isn't, which understandably pisses people off.
Wouldn't mind visiting Lofoten Islands
Looks amazing
Anyone been?

Disagree. It's a response to a desire in consumers to not drink the big corporate's mass produced shite and fits a gap in the market perfectly.
Ale made by small brewers or even like my mate's homebrew - using ages old traditional methods. I'd drink his overly-hoppy incredibly bitter 4.5%-er over what used to be served up in brewery-owned pubs.
"Real" Ale is a pretty accurate marketing description of the product - evoking ideas of traditional brewing methods - unlike many "ales" that are simply chemicals added to water and not brewed in the traditional way.
My eyes can't roll enough.
Chill and drink your Stella Artois instead then m8![]()
Mostly incorrect people on both sides of the fence tonight.

That what I'm saying is it?Think that beer you're drinking is nice? Well I'm sorry, because it wasn't brewed using a method when dysentery and cholera were widespread out of twigs and goat faeces, it isn't I'm afraid.
Actually, I disagree...Not with the taste of their "ale" - some of it tastes very good
I'm not saying "don't drink it" - they do some nice flavoured drinks
as I've clearly stated - feel free to drink what you want if you like it.

What do you guys prefer - Guiness on tap or bottled? Actually had my first bottled one yesterday and wasn't bad at all, just that i don't like that sh*t on tap, too bready.
