Just watched a decent rip of ways to die in the desert..a bit meh and he was totally just Brian all the way through..in fact he started using Brians voice in parts and the ultra crude jokes were out of place with the run of the comedy.

1) It's called A Million Ways to Die in the West. I suspect you may have been watching the wrong film.
2) Not surprising really he was using Brian's voice, considering that's how he talks anyway.
3) You suck.

So its a nice beer then? So why do I give a fuck whether the people who make it have straw in their beards and body odour?

I said it's a nice tasting drink - but doesn't qualify as a real ale.

You'd be pretty pissed off if you turned up at a real ale festival and they served Crabbies, Wine and Fosters wouldn't you? Brewdog, whilst being a "nice drink"**, doesn't meet the required standards (whilst a fuckload of microbrewers manage to quite easily), so they can sod off IMO.

But I'm not saying "don't drink it" - they do some nice flavoured drinks - I'm saying I don't, and these are the reasons why...

@Vae, yep, but they're unashamedly going down the american model of massively ramping up production and yet not sticking to real ale. Which is fine - I don't expect Strongbow to stop brewing strongbow because it's not real ale - but I would strongly object to Strongbow describing their product as such - which is what Brewdog is attempting to do.

When they're not allowed in the club - because they don't meet the standards - they start complaining loudly. The answer is brew some real fucking ale if you want to market it as real ale you fucking idiots...

But they don't. They want to "dominate the world" (from the article you posted) - with stuff that isn't real ale, but still call it that...

Craft my arse. They're just the next big fuck off cunt brewer...

**ffs, "some nice drinks", none of which I can name because they market their brand, not individual beers

It's also produced in Scotland, so where your assertion that they're an American beer comes from I have no idea..

Maybe he's confusing BrewDog with Flying Dog ;) (that are American)

also I seem to detect a certian confusion between what real ale is, and the Real Ale

I think you're working from a false assumption; I wouldn't be seen dead at a real ale festival in the first place; my experiences of such places haven't been great.

Fair enough. My experiences are generally great - Nottingham's the biggest in the country - 120,000 people go over 3 days :)

However, if you went to a punk festival you wouldn't expect Hanson to start playing would you...

Sorry but I slightly doubt your figures again Scouse. The best info I could find for the Robin Hood Beer festival attendance was 21,000 in 2010. The number of casks hasn't varied hugely since then so I don't expect that it has gone up so dramatically. Whereas the GBBF at Earls Court was achieving ~65,000 attendance and now at Olympia it is expected to be about 55,000. There do appear to be less different casks of beer on though than at Nottingham.

Still not getting it. Your whole premise seems to be that there's complete inverse correlation between scale of operation and quality of product. Which isn't necessarily true. Just because a bunch of beardie-weirdies have set up "rules" based on keeping the club exclusive, doesn't actually mean their product is any good; which was my main problem with CAMRA and the like; I used go along to a few of these festivals when I was younger (Olympia was the biggest I went to regularly), and 90% of the stuff I tasted was rank. Initially I put it down to "acquired taste", then I realised (mainly after going to microbreweries in the States a lot more often), that no, I was right, most of it is rubbish. So now I flat out don't care about the size of the operation that makes the stuff, just whether it tastes nice.

Looks awful. The whole point of Walter Mitty was that everything was in his imagination. If he goes off the Greenland and does actual stuff, he's just some guy.

Only just seen this film.
I thought it wasn't too bad. I would go as far as to say it is probably Ben Stiller's best film!
But that isn't really saying much.

I still found it entertaining. I'd give it a 3/5.

Anyone have a radio controlled watch?
Thinking of getting one, just took a peek on Amazon and most of them look horrible.

You mean a smartwatch? Bodhi has one I think. Most of them look gash, although I did quite like:

Still got stupid battery life for a watch, but I'd consider one of these to play with because it isn't that expensive.

I think he meant a regular watch where it sets itself from the greenwich time broadcasts via RF. Like wall clocks mostly do these days.

I don't get the fascination with watches, why spend so much on something that just tells you the time.

I break mine within a couple of months anyway so don't bother wearing one any more.

Only pieces of jewellery I own, two nice Tag watches and a Breitling. They have been purchased over a 20 year period. I don't think that is too extravagant. The first Tag I purchased in Oman in 1994. Had it repaired about 2 years ago costing 300 GBP. They last well and I'm happy with them.

Not worn a watch for over 13 years. I have a mobile with the time on it so really not missed it.

I like them as jewellery; wish I had more money to spend on them tbh.
