Does the pc really use that much power
Depends on the machine as has been said. If it runs a power hungry processor like an early i series or a core 2 duo and a dedicated graphics card then it could be using a hell of a lot. A lot of laptops have have discreet graphics as well now as well as that step down technology to save on processor usage.Just had new gas and leccy meters put in with a smart meter to monitor it all. I have been out at work the last few days and getting back only for the monitor to tell me I have used 50% of my daily budget
I'm trying to work out what is using all the power, so this morning I shut the pc down before I left and now it say I have used 8 %.
Does the pc really use that much power, because its never turned of due to all the seedin....umm...special tasks it has to do in the day
Wouldn't install for me at all, apparently updates now check for root and refuse. If I install the new OTA Android. 4. 4. 3 will I lose root?

Weird one here. Playing the PS4 and my left eye starts hurting. It does not happen when I watch 1080p media but does happen when I use the tablet with its tiny writing. It stings and starts to water. Is it time to see the eye doctors and get glasses for more than driving?
That is what I have my left eye is weaker so I have glasses for driving at night (I find head lights very dazzling so got ones with the anti glare coating) which I think are two years old this summer so I think I will need to go get an eye test again.I weirdly have a similar problem with my left eye as it slightly weaker than the right not enough that I've ever needed glasses but I've always known, and the optician said I don't need glasses when I had a test 2-3 weeks ago.
However I asked what about if I'm on a PC a majority of the day or straining my eyes and he said he it's fine unless I get headaches etc, then it may be worth investing in a pair of glasses; I've had a 2 days since then that my left eye has been straining/headache so I might go for some glasses when at the PC.

Shoebox 'studio flat' in London snapped up by renters within 16 hours
Absolutely heart broken in having to make the decision but as a cat that lives mostly outdoors and loves being there I just can't keep him shut in on meds just so that we have him for another year.
Quality of life and all that. It's a shitty decision to have to make but it's a decision that has to be made.So it looks like my cat that I reared from a feral 6 week old kitten is on his last legs. Suspected stomach cancer. A tumor burst in his bowl which led to septic peritonitis which then led to acute pancreatitis. He developed pneumonia during the night too. The vet is throwing absolutely everything at him at the moment trying to get him better but its not looking good. If the cancer is confirmed and they can sort the rest of his problems out then he probably has a year at best and it wouldn't be a good year.

can't even fully open doors etcthough I would have probably used a smaller/fold up bed.
thats mental, but then london = london
Whereas less than 400 quid a month bought me a 3 (big) bedroomed semi with a garage and front and back gardens in a not-totally-shit part of Nottingham.
Though that whole house now pulls in a lot less rent than that tiny little shithole...
