For me Subway is "emergency abroad" food. When you're in a foreign country and you're tired and you really cba to sit down in a restaurant and negotiate a menu in a foreign language, you go to Subway or MaccyD. Its the only time I ever eat either.

Subways are franchises, so individual ones can do what they like. If cutting the pork makes them more money in that branch then that is what they'll do. It's a business decision, not a religious one.

And Billy, it's because you can't have Halal meat and Non-Halal/Pork together..

Muslims would avoid a place that serves pork for that reason.

It's got nothing to do with bending to religion, it's to do with bending to money, I bet the amount of new halal/kosher customer outweighs the amount of halal-hating customers.

Quite a few of people I went to school with are doing and can't seem to get enough of this. It really fucking annoys me for some reason. I can't really articulate why. I'd never vote UKIP, but I hate they way people that do are ridiculed by the white middle class. It seems to be OK for the BBC to smear them at every opportunity as well. Why is this? They're not the BNP. Admittedly, they seem to have quite a few idiotic members but their policies aren't all ludicrous.

Maybe it's just because I've come to dislike most of the people I went to school with. They have the exact same political opinions of their Guardian reading parents. The sort of cunts who boycott Nestle products at the age of 12. They all went to great universities but barely any of them have a job. Most of them are currently being mugged off on unpaid internships in the creative industry. Others are having what seems to be an extended extended gap year. They're fierce atheists and will remind you of that whenever they can. Religious people are obviously idiots. Except the ethnic minority ones obviously. They're really cool.

I merely pointed out the truth of a trend...the Muslims they interviewed fitted exactly my theory..going from grandparents to grandkids they gradually got more westernised until the youngest was a native brummie if you closed your eyes...buying houses to rent with the same aspirations and getting on with it...the complete dropping of cultural differences when money was involved was striking...the born and bred white brummie estate agent was like an anti racist..though he was saddened by the complete loss of his childhood home..he got on with it because life changes.

In Dubai we have restaurants that server pork on the menu and plenty of muslims eat there. I think the rule is they have to be prepared in separate areas. There is also pork in the supermarkets but just in a non halal food section. You can even buy pork scratchings
