Is Lego making a bit of a comeback? I'm sure I've seen more of it around in supermarkets this year than previously... and I don't remember seeing proper TV ads before, either. If yes then.. awesome.
Technic can still sod off though, with all those bespoke pieces they make for each set nowadays. It used to be that you had beams, cogs (and pulley wheels), rods, wheels, motors and basic pneumatic systems and that was about it. When I were a lad etc etc.
(even stuff...for girls!)
Ah Gaff, I was going to ask you directly from a department store-y pov, I just seem to be noticing it a lot more this year than previously in supermarkets. I don't remember seeing as much of it (as in, so much shelf-space dedicated to it) in such mainstream places. I saw that ad with the boy and his dad building the house (with different architectural ideas) during the City vs Utd match and it made me think they are either pushing it harder (that has to be a pretty expensive time to be advertising) this year or it's popularity is climbing.Never went away....Lego continues to do great business, and they've been doing TV for donkey's years (the Lego Clone Wars Ad is my all time favourite). My only concern is that there's almost too much variety and too many brand tie-ins these days (even stuff...for girls!), but it seems to work for them.
Just downloaded a dvd quality cam of Skyfall, most awesome cam I've ever seen, the pirates are moving on up.
