There was a sign on the lawn at a drug re-hab center that said 'Keep off the Grass'.

Oh and it does raise the question that if so many of us have Neanderthal DNA were they ever really a separate species? They could just have been a long isolated population that grew apart.

The last century has transformed our understanding of them from thuggish near animals to a sophisticated culture with language and elaborate death rituals - exactly the same as contemporaneous homo sapiens.

@Big G those are the same kind of hippie new age wankers who, while getting their jollies off some meat lick&slap(not the good kind), whine about how horrible the hunger situation of the world is. The words "choke on your own arsesweat" kind of covers it :p

Someone on my Facebook just said 'I miss the 90s' Yeah, when you were 0-7 years old, was the best time ever.

I can't even remember that age ;(

If you can define the 90s in a similar fashion as one can do with the 70s, or 80s (which both have distinct styles/fashions/etc to them) then feel free to do so :p

Actually in "nerd terms", gaming perspective etc it was a HUGE decade.

Scientists successfully clone a sheep
Windows 3.1
WWW
first mass computer virus

I started my first Internet job in the 9os - 1995 to be precise. Except for one crappy year stuck in Peterborough I had a great 90s.

World trade Centre attack, beginning of War on Terrorism,

That was 2001 though ;)

Ofcourse things happened, but there's no way to give a quick mental image of the 90s, like there is of the 70s(disco, drugs, hippies), 80s(well let's not talk about the 80s....), 40s(gansters, dick tracy whatnot) etc.

Closest i ever got to defining it is through guns'n'roses style rock stuff, but that's pretty niche.

As you and i said though, WWW and other computer stuff were a plenty, guess one could call it a nerd decade :p

Nope. The first WTC attack was actually in 1993.

Well, you've got Madchester and Acid House/ecstacy right at the beginning of the 90s (and end of the 80s), then Seattle, then Britpop and the explosion of the festival scene, and the whole Ibiza thing as well. The first half of the decade was actually pretty enjoyable musically. I'd say the 90s was the last real expression of a distinct youth culture; apart from Hipsters and emos (which is just marketing/repackaging), there's not been much that's distinctive about the last 10 years.

The original attack on the WTC was in the 1993 where they blew up the basement, 6 people died

Probably the best goal England have ever scored was scored in the 90s too, against Scotland.
