£70 a year to have a Netflix subscription - Check
£300 a year for a internet connection - Check
£39.99 (ish) a year to watch Netflix on a £450 console - LOL NO.

Hope PS4 doesn't charge for net usage/using netflix. Else I'll be pissy.

Charging a toll for stuff you're already paying for is more of a Microsoft thing, so I doubt it will be an issue with the PS4, but given the current rate of really stupid decision-making coming out of the next-gen console category, who knows? Maybe they'll demand your first-born child in order to play GT6, or a goat-sacrifice on a pentagram dance-mat. I wouldn't put anything past these idiots.

Not Safe for Ears

After 4 years away that is a fucking shocking song. It sounds like a charity song or one of then Lonely Islands style piss takes.

Shame, I quite like her cover for the John Lewis christmas advert
Not gonna get any radio play either, too much 'bitching' in it
Which is basically why she won't need this to get radio play, she'll be everywhere thanks to the "clean" project she's got running at the same time, smart.

Standard incident - large vehicle, junction (roundabout) and cyclist in painted on cycle lane.

Large vehicles don't stay in lane on turns - sticking a tiny blue lane on the edge is crazy.

I wouldn't call a death a "standard incident" - especially since the bike was on a designated, coloured, bike lane where lorries should not be (tantamount to mounting a pavement), but yes - road design needs addressing.

Whilst a blue strip is not a guarantee that lorries won't be there they certainly shouldn't be and they should certainly be aware that cyclists will be using them as they were intended to be used.

I hope he gets his licence taken off him. But I doubt anything will happen.

You don't know all the facts, the story is typically BBC vague.

A lorry does not turn in the same way a car does so could well have clipped her as she tried to come up the inside in his blind spot.

The cyclist killed in Croydon the other day allegedly jumped a red.

Bus drivers getting slaughtered over the incidents in the last few days.

I watched the BBC report on this yesterday lunchtime. During and after the spiel about road safety they showed footage of several different cyclists, none of whom had fucking helmets on. The guy who died earlier last week got squished as he was riding on the inside of a coach. What kind of fucking retard cycles on the inside of a large vehicle near a junction like that? Hang back or overtake it well away from a junction. Darwin award, TBPFH.

As I understand it they were both travelling westbound approaching the roundabout and he turned right to go southbound. I don't think the cycle lane actually exists at the roundabout itself except as blue paint on the road of a busy roundabout.

Its a disastrously dangerous roundabout with no simple solution - you can see the painted on 'cycle path' in the pics.

Lorry driver wasn't arrested which points at cyclist but tbh this roundabout is a mess.

TFL had just changed the traffic light sequences there to help cyclists but it made it hellishly confused

"
Changes introduced by Transport for London after the death of cyclist Brian Dorling at Bow roundabout two years ago allow cyclists to get an “early start” on other motorists.
They went “live” on the westbound approach to the roundabout eight days ago.(Where she died) Today Charlie Lloyd of the London Cycling Campaign said as he visited the site that the different sets of lights were “highly confusing” and caused repeated arguments between cyclists and drivers over which set to obey.
Police said the lorry had been travelling west on the A11 before turning left towards the Blackwall tunnel. The cyclist was also heading west, probably following the route of the Mayor’s CS2 cycle superhighway between Stratford and Aldgate.
Charlie Lloyd from the London Cycling Campaign, who came to the accident scene said: "This is very dangerous here, there are eight sets if lights and it is very confusing. The cycle superhighway is still leaving cyclists vulnerable."

I would; 12 deaths in London so far this year, 14 last, about as standard as you can get. Given the number of people cycling in London and the number of vehicles, I'm frankly surprised at how low the number is. If you look at similar cities, New York was 19 last year, Paris 17. It seems to be a fairly consistent ratio per capita. Harsh as it sounds, there are cheaper ways to save 14 lives a year.

Quite common though - that's why I said it was a standard London accident because they almost invariably include turning large vehicles.

Cyclists (and pedestrians) need proper separation from traffic - where this is not possible (because it won't be in many parts of London) its irresponsible for people to be encouraged to cycle them.

OR cyclists need to look around them a bit more. I cycled safely in London for years, as do plenty of other people I know who would be horrified at the thought of being on the inside of a lorry or coach approaching a junction.

Indeed. It's been ages since I cycled but my priority when I did my priority was always to keep as far away from any vehicle as possible. Mostly because painted lines don't count for squat, if something is going to hit you, it's going to hit you.

Of course but when you encourage mass participation you will inevitably get more inexperienced cyclists.

Some of those will die on mixed traffic roads.

I really fo think some cyclists think their experience gives them magical abilities to control traffic...the coast roads by us have no pavements and a 60 speed limit..there is a lovely wide cyclepath witjh wooden poles seperating it from the road..still..loads of fucnut ifiots on expensive bikes ride down the road with cars tailing behind them or screeching past..they are fuckong imbeciles.
