I mean, I love all of it, but:

Liszt's Consolation No3 in D Flat Major. At 51:58 (there's a menu at the bottom). And then he talks about Rachmaninov, before playing him.

Vladimir Horowitz is by far my favourite pianist of all time.

What an incredible man.

I've been playing piano for forty a long time. My favourite pianist currently - and for quite some time now - is Valentina Lisitsa

I'm going to give her the Hungarian Rhapsody No2. test @Lamp.

I've very set opinions on how that's best played :)

It's an absolute work of art. Easily in my top 5 games of all time.

Don't rush to the DLC, you will know when it is time.

Re sizzling beef dishes in Chinese restaurants

"Here is a tip from a retired Chef. You will notice that sizziling dishes are always far more expensive on the menu than standard dishes with exactly the same ingredients. What is the difference? Well we put the cast iron skillet on the range flame until it is super hot, put the dish from a normal pan on to the skillet and when the server picks it up we pour a shot glass of tap water into the corner of the skillet to create the ""sizzle"". The server then rushes for dear life to the table before the sizzle dies( usually lasts about 3 minutes ). looks great for people who have not ordered yet who think "Oh that looks nice" and pay18 quid for a sizziling dish rather than a tenner for one with no sizzle. You are paying for 40cl of tap water."

400,000 years?!

We're so clever we invented fire before we even existed!

But you know. We're probably just culturally appropriating the work of Homo Habilis.

Fucking immigrants
Humans have existed for more than 200,000 years.

Key Eras & Milestones:

  • Miocene (ending ~5.3 MYA): Hominins (human-like ancestors) first appeared.
  • Pliocene (5.3 - 2.6 MYA): Early hominins diversified.
  • Pleistocene (2.6 MYA - 11,700 YA): The "Ice Age" epoch where Homo habilis, Homo erectus, Neanderthals, and finally Homo sapiens evolved.
  • Middle Paleolithic (~300,000 YA): Homo sapiens (anatomically modern humans) emerged in Africa, with fossils found in Morocco.
  • Late Paleolithic (~50,000 YA): Complex behaviors like art and advanced tools developed, linked to the spread of modern humans out of Africa.
  • Holocene (11,700 YA - Present): The current geological epoch, beginning after the last ice age, marked by agriculture and civilization.

Yeah. But homo sapiens hasn't.

I mean, I love neanderthals as much as the next guy but I wouldn't give them a special music award, no matter how shit the boat they came over in was ;)

I got myself some Hawkstone Lager today. Clarkson's farm beer. Anyone else tried it ?

Its very drinkable. Got a lovely golden colour to it. After 3 bottles you still don't feel like you've drank anything. Three bottles of Stella and you know you're drinking. It's OK. Very light. Doesn't have that full bodied profile that, say, continental lagers have.
