Arseholes will try to assault him?

Like you, I don't know exactly what happened but I heard it was an old man he beat up, so it suggests to me that the old dude was giving him some verbal and Tommy decided to knock him out.

Freedom of speech etc?

And thats what I heard, he was 64 or something

Whacking him in prison would suit the government very well.

So is this it? evil Labour government wants to remove your rights, support paedophiles and 'knock off' their political enemies?

Even in that world, he's an useful idiot for both sides and I suspect in that world it'd be more likely that he'd be knocked off by his own side, Ernst Rohm style if you'd like.

Edit - but nah, the guy has a track record, there's plenty of videos of him getting violent when he outnumbers/ages the person.

Sad thing is - a bit more transparency from those in charge around the grooming gangs and Tommy Yaxley - Lennon wouldn't even be a thing.

I'm sure the edl predates that coming out?

But sure. Wouldn't be that free recruitment.

Don't know why you're getting butthurt by a calm desire for transparency. And it's not an anti-labour rant - the Tories wanted him away too.

You need to remember what it was like when you had independent thought and weren't seeing everything through an ideological prism @Gwadien old chum.

what?

I think in a shocking turn in events you've added 1+1 = 3 just to have a dig at me because I'm a die hard labour supporter or something.

When I'm not.

Just responding to this...

(And loads of other posts indicating strong Labour alignment, but YMMV)

I'd not get hung up on a throwaway line. I just said it would "suit" the government - which it would - he can be highly politically embarassing or just create difficulty.

But I didn't say or even intimate there was some dark conspiracy against him.

What I would like to see is the full video, if there is one. I'm fully prepared to think someone took a pop at him and he floored them.

I'm less inclined to think someone provoked him into punching them without being incredibly harrasing first. He has too much to lose.

He's got a wife and three kids you know. Going back into prison would be a torture to him.

Sure, neither of us can come to a conclusion, but as I say - he's got a track record of getting violent extremely quickly.

The bloke literally is the figurehead of a group of people that are going to attract attention, he's not tried to hide from the limelight, bit like when the riots were going off last year he was sat on a sunbed encouraging people.

It did, but without the grooming gangs scandal drum to beat he'd be a fringe nutter about as relevant as Nick Griffin in 2025.

As it is he had very little to do with the recent revelations - which all came out when he was behind bars - but it gave him a thin veil of respectability when no such thing was deserved - all thanks to years of politicians suggesting there was nothing to see here.

I mean, why should he? In a "civilised" country you're supposed to be able to hold and voice unpopular or controversial views without threat of violence.

If you can't do that I'd rather have the fucking church back in charge. At least wanking would be more fun because of it's 'forbidden' nature. :)

He was posting. Sure. Encouraging people to demonstrate.

But inciting violence? Bullshit. He's a public figure, he can and should be able to post what he thinks. If people commit violent acts, that's on them.

But to be very clear - he didn't incite violence, which is an offence in the UK.

For me, I think inciting violence is fine btw. Helped Mandela get shit done eh? Without it South Africa would still be under white rule.
