That's not really true, older gen ARM chips weren't really up to running win 10 which was why RT died on its arse. They're only really good enough now.

Fair enough, but @Job wasn't making some educated point about the intricacies of ARM vs x86. He doesn't have an understanding of any of it, he just has a chip on his shoulder because he lacks even basic IT skills and blames the OS and its manufacturer. Therefore anything that manufacturer does in a different space is equally as shit.

Windows Vista was a bit pants but it was a brave attempt to move the home OS over from 9x to the NT platform to improve stability and security (2 things which XP wasn't good at), 7 was a massive improvement, 8 lost its way a bit (they kind of lurched towards a tablet interface without thinking about mouse/keyboard users) and 10 is great (and more lightweight than 7). And if you don't like it, use Linux.

Its not more lightweight..that pos Cortona is woven into its every move.
The file explorer is probably the single greatest abortion of code in computer history..though the win 8 UI comes a close second.
The simple reason for their shit is that they are all but a monopoly and with that comes an utter indifference to the end user .
Thats why their phones failed so badly, they have no fucking clue whatsoever how to make something that isnt just great for them.

I been on prescription codeine for the last 5 or more years.

regularly go a day or two without needing it for the pain, some times longer depends how far i have to walk / travel. Its a pleasant spacey feel. But donno never craved it or needed it except to dull pain.

i am surprised that the drs here havent followed up with me about my having script for so long.

the nhs might not be quite as bad as the usa. But there are still thousands in the uk addicted to script drugs.
